Onika Tanya Maraj- Petty, more artistically known as Nicki Minaj, is a Trinitarian rapper, composer, actress and model, born on December 8, 1982 in the city of Port of Spain in the country of Trinidad and Tobago.

Childhood:
Nicki minaj lived in the district of Saint James, she first lived with her grandmother since her parents were workers in the financial area, later they moved to New York City, specifically in The Bronx, and nicki stayed in Trinidad and Tobago with her grandmother, she was a very funny and friendly child, she got together with many friends to play but when she turned 5 she was taken to live with her parents, leaving behind her grandmother and her country, during this time nicki relates how her life was very different from trinidad, since at that time New York was in the era of crack, her father was an alcoholic and drug addict, in one night she was at the house of some neighbors, and suddenly they called her an emergency, only to come and see that her house was on fire, as his father tried to kill his mother by setting fire to the house.

Difficulties in her life:
with the passage of time, nicki grew up and began studying arts at her school, but auditioned for an arts academy, lost her voice and with it the opportunity.
It was time to work and she worked 15 jobs before becoming famous, she was fired because she used to be very conflicted, Among the jobs Nicki had were as an administrative assistant, customer service and as an office manager for a Wall Street company.

Her passion for her culture that was Hip-Hop/Rap led her to release a mixtape called Playtime is Over in April 2007. Where she had the opportunity and met one of the most famous rappers of that time, her name is Lil Wayne, and with it she earned 5 million to start her artistic career, her talent was reflected so much that Kanye West, said that she was "A threat" because they called her to collaborate on the song called "Monster" and she broke the record with her verse, for people were more interested in their verse than in the other men who were in the song.
