       Hello, my name’s Raoul! 

I’m a special form of a granite rock called, 

“Rapakivi-Granite”! {Say: rap-A-kai-vai}

I’m also very expensive rock, but I’m very 

beautiful!

     I first started as an igneous rock, and I lived 

on a lovely tropical beach! Every day was sunny! 

The bright sun made the sand look like glitter! 

I just love the coco-nut trees! The coco-nuts are 

so delicious! And the palm-trees are always 

perfect for shade! 

This is the perfect paradise! 

     I made best friends with Sandi while I was on 

the beach! She loves to play in the sand all day 

long! She’s like a stone in the sand!

     But one day there was a violent earthquake and 

I feel into the ground. It was such a steep fall, 

that it was almost unreal.  

I’m going to be sad to go because I know Sandi will 

eat all of the coco-nuts. 

And to make it even worse, it was pitch black as I 

fell.

     Once I was in the ground, I was squeezed by 

the moving rocks. Everything happened so fast 

that it was like I was in the basement of the 

ground.

I’m so upset because I didn't have any friends to 

be with me, and there are no coco-nuts now here.

     I feel asleep because of nothing to do. I was 

dreaming I was back on my lovely beach with Sandi, 

eating coco-nut ice-cream.

It was such a great dream, when all of a sudden I 

was rudely awakened by passing rocks. They 

carried me away at top speed, never returning to 

my first location. 

They seem to be speaking to each other in a 

strange language. This is hopeless to know where 

they’re taking me.

     As I traveled further with the rushing rocks, 

the temperature grew hotter. It became so hot 

that the walls were starting to melt. Even me, 

myself started to wrinkle like a prune. I soon had 

grandma skin, and before I knew it I was melted 

down into a sticky liquid! It was almost as if I was 

in a volcano.

As I melted, I covered to tops of the rushing 

rocks below me, causing them to glue all of us 

together.

I shrieked, eeked, and screamed, but no one came 

to rescue me. 

     Suddenly, the rushing rocks tripped, and made 

all of us fall into a hole. The fall was so great that 

we all separated apart from each other. The hole 

was connected to a slide which guided us to a new 

area.

I was having too much fun riding the slide, when I 

seen that the slide ended in a pool of red liquid. 

The liquid was smocking, had popping bubbles, and 

smelled like spicy tuna.

Although the spiciness does smell good, I just know 

something bad is going to happen. 

     It turned out to be a hot tub surrounded by red 

soup! The water was nice a warm, just the way I 

like it! It felt good to eat the soup too!

     I must have stayed in the water too long 

because now the rushing rocks and I have morphed 

together.  

I quickly grabbed a mirror and seen what a terrible 

looking beast I’ve become. I must have became a 

sedimentary rock. No wonder nobody wants to 

become one of them.

     I couldn’t believe what I’ve become. Those 

rushing rocks, must have been bad from the start, 

I knew it! And now they’re all gone, and have left 

me here all by myself, how rude!

Maybe I can be beautiful again if I have another 

round in that hot water? May so, I just hope 

something happens. 

Several Months Later……

     Oh, I feel so refreshed! Oh, my, look at the 

time! I must have fallen asleep while I was 

relaxing. Wow, how long have I been asleep? Gasp, 

my skin is so silky smooth! I can’t wait to see how I 

look!
