           The philosophers stone 

is the book where harry learns about who he really is(i.e., lord wizard) how his life changes and how he faces the one who killed his parents and tried to kill him(i.e., lord voldemort) and how he also defeats him.

Book 1

        The chamber of secrets 

is the book where he comes back and this time catches the culprit who is trying to kill muggle borns and squibs. This time too it is lord voldemort though he acts through ginny weasley who's ron weasley's little sister.                           

Book 2

        The prisoner of azkaban 

is a book where harry learns about his god father who is considered a mass murderer and is put the wizard jail(azkaban) for it. He learns the whole truth about the past and then helps dumbledore save sirius from a terrible fate. He also saves an innocent creature from execution, a hippogriff to be precise.                       

Book 3

          In the goblet of fire    

harry faces dangerous challenges forbidden for people under 17(harry is 14 in this one)he faces lord voldemort who this time has regenerated completely and fights him. This one is the beginning or the basic line for the rest five more books.
