THE BURNING CHRISTMAS TREE
A few days before Christmas, a family decided that they were going to spend the holidays in their grandparents’ house. The mum Mary, told her children, Susan and Noah:
-Go to take your things out of the suitcase, we’re going to have dinner with your
grandparents, Peter and Carol.

When they got to the house, the children started to play with a candle but they accidentally burned the Christmas tree… Their mum wasn’t angry.
After that, she went to a shop and she bought another tree. She came home and the children saw her accompanied by a big christmas tree with beautiful spikes. Susan and Noah were so amazed to see their mum arrive with a new tree.
Once at home, Noah, the oldest one, helped his mum to install the tree in the middle of the living room. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door. They opened it, it was their family. They decorated the tree drinking a hot Creole chocolate and “pain natté” (a Creole bread). Later, they all had a good Christmas dinner with a Christmas ham, red beans and rice, soup and for dessert a log.
It was an extraordinary Christmas!!

CHRISTMAS IS BACK!!
It was Christmas in the year 2052 when Spiros and Antonio were talking about the things they were doing to do on the holidays but they realized that the Christmas traditions were lost. There was a world pandemic and they couldn’t go out to the street because the air was polluted.
-Hey Spiros, What if we go back to the past to fix the world and have Xmas back?
-Ok, I think it is a good idea but, how do we do that?
-Well, I have an idea…
-We can build a time-machine.
-How can we make it?
-I have a friend who sells things for time-machines
-Let’s go to his shop.
After two hours with their flying car, they got there.
Once they arrived, they saw sad people with masks and nobody was rushing to the shops to buy the last things necessary for the preparation of the Christmas holidays. Where is the Christmas spirit hidden?

Suddenly, Spiros had an idea. They went to the town hall square, where people usually sang “chanté nwel”, traditional French Guianese Christmas carols and started to sing
They were about to give up when suddenly a white light appeared and everything lit up. People went out and started eating and singing together.
The Christmas spirit was back!
