WEB2 WORKSHOP PROJECT
STORY WRITING COMMON PRODUCT

PREFACE
Our protagonists are preparing for the mobility component of an Erasmus project that has been approved. The project involves 17 partners, 9 of whom are Turkish, and cross-national mobility is anticipated. However, just as their journeys are about to begin, the pandemic restrictions are implemented, and life for the entire planet is turned upside down. Our team receives letters from all of their partners describing the circumstances and what transpired. This book is created by the letters written by our partners. We gave a page to each of our partners and wanted them to tell how the pandemic happened in their countries, how their lives have changed, and to decorate their story pages as they wish .

ESRA AKILLI
Büyükçiğli Anatolian High School İzmir, Turkey

It was a pleasant spring day. In Büyükçili Anatolian High School, there was a joyous atmosphere. The erasmus+ project, on which the project team has been working for quite some time, has been approved, and mobility preparations have begun. Timur, Senem, Naz, Çağan Eren, Büşra, Nisa Nermin, Işıl, Ferah, Aynur, Gökçe, Serhad, Cansn, and their instructor Esra teacher will both meet face-to-face with the people they work with during the project and travel to eight nations. They were overjoyed. They had signed numerous works, created many shared products together thanks to the previous eTwinning project they had done with the same team, and had gotten to know each other from afar thanks to online meetings and emails, but this time they were able to visit all of their partners and see their work on the ground.

Croata, Lirhuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Tunusia, Turkey, Greece, Jordon were among the
ten countries involved in the project, and they were to carry out their studies with a total of 17 student groups. Being a part of such a large work team was both exciting and humbling. But then they began to hear the word "pandemic," which they had never heard before, and they began to receive surprising news from all over the world. All governments have begun to take steps to protect themselves against this dreadful illness and to limit human mobility. Travel between countries was prohibited, and all activities planned as part of the initiative were pushed back.Despite their disappointment, the Büyükçili High School project team was resolved to keep their contacts and friendships with the project partners. In this direction, Esra teacher planned an event and asked all the partners to write letters about their experiences during the pandemic, how they coped with the problems they faced during these difficult times, how their education life was affected by the process, in short, about the pandemic in their country or city, in order to motivate her students and keep the communication warm between the project students. Jordan wrote the first letter.

OUR SCHOOL PROJECT TEAM

Hello, we are the Erasmus Project Team supervised by Ayla GÜNDÜZ KURT from Martyr Major
Bedir Karabıyık Multi-Program Anatolian High School. Our team consists of 15 people (Selinay K.)
and Rana E. , Elif T. , Melike E. , Türkan A. , Mehmet Ali Ş. , Medine Hilal Y. , Simay G. , Helin A. , Arda Durmus D. , Şevval Y. , Arda E. , Yağmur Ç. , Warvin A. , Seliyna Y. , consists of. We are very happy to be doing an Erasmus project this year with our team, with whom we did a Twinning project last year. However, many things have been suspended in our country with the COVID-19 epidemic, which has spread throughout the world, in Turkey. I would like to briefly describe this process in our country. The first detected case of COVID-19 in Turkey was announced by the Ministry of Health on March 11, 2020. The first death due to the virus in the country occurred on March 15, 2020.

The epidemic caused radical decisions to be taken in Turkey that had many important effects and consequences in the social, economic, political, economic, administrative, legal, military, religious and cultural fields. While education was suspended in primary, secondary and high schools in the country, spring semester classes were canceled in all universities and exams were postponed

All restaurants, cafes, museums, classrooms, courses, shopping centers, hotels; barbers, hairdressers and beauty centers; The obligation to use masks has been put into effect while coffee shops, sports halls, concert venues, night clubs, association clubs and wedding/engagement halls are temporarily closed. Hundreds of settlements, villages and towns have been quarantined as part of COVID-19 measures. The government first introduced a curfew for people aged 65 and over in order to reduce the spread of the epidemic and maintain social distance between people. It later expanded this restriction to include children and youth aged 20 and under. In Turkey, after the first case was seen, schools closed in a short time and announced that they would switch to distance education very quickly.

Distance learning began shortly after the closure of schools. Our trainings continued through three basic components during the pandemic process in Turkey. These are: Television broadcasts, Education Information Network (EBA) contents and trainings that teachers maintain synchronously with their students through various applications.
Students and teachers at all grades and grades across the country started face-to-face training 5 days a week as of September 6, just like before the epidemic.
The corona virus is transmitted to other people through the spread of droplets coughed out by a sick person. That's why it's very important to keep your distance from someone you think is infected or has been diagnosed with the disease. Avoiding crowds, not making contact with the environment and those around when necessary, not sharing food and other objects are among the precautions to be taken.

In order to prevent the spread of the virus, it is one of the measures to be taken to clean the hands with soapy water or disinfectant frequently during the day and before eating, and not to touch the face with the hands as much as possible.
Avoid close contact, such as shaking hands or hugging. We should cover our mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. We should wash our hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If we cannot find water and soap, we should use cologne containing at least 60% alcohol. The most common symptoms in detecting COVID-19 symptoms are fever, cough, and malaise. Other symptoms include shortness of breath, chest pain or tightness, muscle or body pain, headache, loss of sense of taste and smell, confusion, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, and skin rash. .

Even as the world slowly reopens, understanding the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on both individuals and comunities is an important first step on the road of recovery from the physical, emotional, social and economic toll it has taken worldwide. The pandemic has changed drastically the way we work, learn and interact, as social distancing guidelines have led to a more virtual existence. Analysing at an individual level, we were all affected in various ways, both personally and professionaly. Being extremely diverse, the impact of the restrictions felt different from one person to another. As a result, nowadays, feeling different from what we were used to has become normality.

ALINA CRETU
COLEGIUL NATIONAL STEFAN CEL MARE/SUCEAVA, Romania

“Before March 2020, I didn't exactly know what a pandemic really meant. When it first started in Romania, news about it were all over the media. I remember schools being shut down. It was said we were to return in two weeks' time. I believed it. Most of us did. Never could I have imagined it would last so long... It has almost been two years. It is hard to comprehend. And so much has changed, from the way we talk and interact with others, to the way we interact with our inner selves. Gone are the carefree days. Hanging out with friends, experiencing the happy hustle-bustle of the city, enjoying the free, pure air (no mask in between)... Maybe because of the Coronavirus, maybe because I, we, have kinda grown up with it. From middle school to high school, the transition during the pandemic, with online classes and never really quite interacting with our classmates as past generations did in the ninth and tenth grade. But I've grown used to it. I think most of us have. As much as a human can get used to something like this. We know the rules, the risks, we adapted. But never quite so. It still affect us all. We're never free of worry. And there's much to worry about, with good reasons. But life goes on." Alexandra
“Looking back to what seems like a recent past, the thought of living a life without constantly worrying about even the slightest move you do comes across as surreal. It feels like our existences have been divided into two parts that are poles apart.
It’s been almost three years since all this corona-thing happened. I remember the first time the news of an unordinary type of cold was presented on TV. Did I laugh it off? Can’t remember. One thing is for sure: no one had ever expected such a phenomenon to turn the whole world upside down.
In Romania, the danger appeared in March 2020. Full of scepticism, people weren’t wary enough of it and we all know where it led to. Numbers growing and growing at a terrifying rate/speed, restrictions, online activities, fear, anxiety and, the peak of it all, death.
It wasn’t and still isn’t the greatest experience not going to school, not being able to leave the house, not seeing anybody and so on. Truth be told, it is an upsetting change.
But, you know, humans are bizarre beings, adapting to this volatile situation. We are trying our best to protect ourselves and, at the same time, others while hoping to overcome the pandemic. Even though it sounds aberrant not to get too caught up in the stress and chaos surrounding us, doing so is the best way of remaining down-to-earth and prudent.“ Maya

“Over the past two-three years I've learned (first-hand, unfortunately) to see the reality not how I wished it to be but how it really is. A cruel realisation.
‘Those book/movie-worthy conspiracy theories’?- some people actually believe them. I still can't wrap my mind 100 per-cent around just how easily influenced people can be. As if turning against someone of your own kind wasn't bad enough, refusing to comply to some simple rules is getting out of hand. ‘Not wearing masks or wearing them wrongly ‘? -you might as well save yourself the trouble of wearing it at all! It's really logical how we can wear gloves, hats, fancy shoes and clothes, but we cannot wear a simple mask (sarcasm inserted). The level of sheer ridiculousness we've reached is horrifying... ”Laura

As we develop more and more at a staggering speed, we must prepare for a world where pandemics are more frequent and increasingly dangerous. In the short run, we will possess the ability to travel around the galaxy, to explore the bottom of the oceans and many more, thereupon new species of viruses with pandemic potential will be inevitably discovered. That being said, the SARS-COV 2 pandemic may only constitute a rehearsal for a far worse one. Therefore, preventing this almost apocalyptic scenario from happening and never allowing the loss of human life to increase dramatically is a great responsability for every one of us.

In a scene that was repeated in most homes in the world that included children receiving school education via the Internet due to the quarantine of the Corona pandemic, “Sesame,” the young squirrel, says to his sister Nouna in the story “In Our Home is a School”: “Lower the volume of your device, Nouna, I do not hear the teacher,” to respond to him. With wit: “How can I hear if I turn the volume down”…

My story with covid 19

GIORGOS ANTHIMOPOULOS
5o ΓΕΛ ΑΧΑΡΝΩΝ-Acharnes, Greece

When the pandemic started, I was glad I would miss school and stay at home. So, I came up with ideas, and saw them flushing out, that I had no time to cope with before, like solving a 1500 pieces puzzle and cooking more time-demanding recipes. But when I realized that this was going to take longer than it was initially said, I began to worry about what our lives would be like next, about the health of me and my own people, and when I would meet with my friends fearlessly.
So I was tormented by these questions, as a result of which my psychology was affected. That's why I tried to stop thinking like that. When we came back to school after a long time I felt alive again, as I was slowly finding my daily life. Finally, I hope it passes as soon as possible, because we may be in a daily routine now, but we are constantly facing problems from this virus.

Jordan has witnessed several challenges associated with the epidemiological situation of the spread of the coronavirus, which still remains a global threat. Jordan has provided a successful model in responding to the coronavirus of early onset of the disease through the application of a series of strict government closures by any country in the world. These actions have had major repercussions on the Jordanian economy domestic unemployment has risen to 30% and many Jordanian workers returning from neighboring countries lost their jobs. these actions have also closed down many trade and markets, reflecting their financial situation and the accumulation of liability. Also, the health sector has been particularly affected by a high incidence of Coronavirus, with regards to Education it has been closed for a long period leading to a shift to e-education.

After a brief period to time, however, the Jordanian Government has taken a gradual approach by taking mitigating procedures to alleviate the return to normal life ,including the reopening of the economic and educational sectors through a series of health protocols to prevent the spread of the disease .
Jordan has worked to incorporate international recommendations into policy frameworks to deal with the safe return of students to schools. The World Health Organization has made a significant contribution to the aspect of the public and safe return of students, recommending that all government agencies must take into consideration preventive procedures and requirements to prevent transmission to students and teachers, at the level of adopted policies, practices, infrastructure, behavioral aspects, hygiene, spacing, periodic examinations, and distance education as a safe part of the educational process. (World Health Organization,2021)

Based on those recommendations the Jordanian Ministry of Education has prepared a procedural manual and adopted a safe and well-thought-out plan and course through the Health Protocol for the Safe Return of School, which is based on the following areas:
* Identification of Covid-19 in terms of symptoms, how it spreads, treatment).
* Health education programs.
*Implementation of national campaigns to vaccinate teachers.
*Do information campaigns for safe return to schools.
*Commitment with health requirements.
*Preventive health measures.

♥ Pandemic
For each of us, the pandemic was a new experience. Everyone had to learn to live anew. Many bans and warrants like wearing masks, not everyone liked. It was not possible to go on holiday because you had to stay at home. Nobody knew how the pandemic would go and when it would end. Tens of thousands of people were ill every day and there was no cure for it.

⁸Much of the work was done remotely, schools were closed as well as tourist attractions. To this day, some people work remotely, but thanks to the vaccine there are more opportunities and at least a little you can return to "normal".Schools operate stationary and you can take a break and rest for a while, going on a small holiday. The first case of coronavirus infection was found on March 4, 2020. From March 20, 2020, in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health, an epidemic has been in force in Poland.
♥ Our school Zespół Szkół Ekonomiczno-Handlowych im. Polaków spod Znaku Rodła w Olsztynie is close to the train and bus stations. The word pandemic was a strange word we heard about happening in very distant places in the world ,but we felt remote and distant ,not something we should worry about . 2020 was a sad memorable year in tunisia , we witnessed horros every where : the hospitals were unable to accept more patients , people were dying outside , death smells every where . Since our country was hit, every thing changed : we had gone through several lock downs for long periods : we could no longer visit each other, no longer play with friends or relatives . We had to wear masks daily . Parties were not allowed , the goverment imposed a total lockdown.

The tunisian health system collupsed and the corona intensive care units were overflowing , the goverment declared pandemic situation catastrophic and a campaign named Save Tunisia was launched on Social Media . Even schools were shut for a period then we had to study in groups ,every pupil had to attend school for three days instead of the whole week. so we felt disappointed because we are getting a poor quality of education. schools have reopened in september and are still open despite the new virus .
Ynfortunately we hear about alot of infected pupils but still had to attend schools because we can not study from home as there was no remote learning possibilities have been offered and pupils suffer from the shortage of materials at home . We are now suffereing from not only an education crisis but also a , poor quality of education.

Despite the tragic era we had been living in since the emergence of the virus , we benefited alot from the lock down periods we had : some of us discovered new hobbies and others improved their skills in farming, writing , painting, music playing and even cooking. the opportunity of the lock down and the repetitive unexpected holidays helped ainjloula pupils to renew their hope and redouble their efforts to achieve success . we also learnt to value life.

and thank god for every new day we are given , we learnt not to take things easily and to strive to live because only strong people can survive . we learnt to sympathise with not only family and relatives but also foreigners in other countries . we learnt to be cooperative and supportive inside and outside the home .what we appreciate most is the possibilty to have new friends( Epals) from all over the world . Friends with whom we can share our happiness and bitterness .

We were very excited for the Erasmus project because we would meet different cultures and nations, but suddenly Covid 19 appeared. Entry and exit from countries were banned. So the project was suspended. Schools are closing, people are starting to run their business from home, curfews are announced...
The time people spend outside is decreasing as much as possible. When they are outside, they protect themselves by following social distance and wearing masks.

When they return home, they wash their hands. Only in this way they can protect themselves because there is neither a cure nor a vaccine for this disease for now. Scientists are still struggling to find out.
They only had advice. Pay attention to your diet, have a healthy sleep routine, avoid things that will disturb your psychology... At first, it was difficult to spend time only indoors, but now we can't even go out anymore. We are literally housebound.
To be honest, it felt good at first that the schools were closed. But as time passed, I couldn't see any of my friends, I couldn't go anywhere but home and I started to get really bored. My brothers were also badly affected by this situation. I never wanted to study. Meanwhile, people die in the country and I feel sorry for them. We are living a real nightmare.

I'm very worried about the old people in our family, I hope nothing happens to them. I talk to them every day and warn them to be very careful. My father had to go out because of his job, and when he came back from work, his face was a little sullen. When I asked him what had happened, he said that a close friend's corona test was positive and that he was in constant contact with him.

My father's corona test was positive. At that moment, I was so scared that I even started to think about things that would not happen. I knew nothing about the virus and was very afraid of it. Because of my father's corona, I couldn't do anything. I couldn't eat
I couldn't pay attention to online classes. I wasn't enjoying anything I was trying to do to distract myself at home.

In short, I was devastated. If something happens to my father, my brothers and my mother... but there was only one thing that made me happy, there was no change in my father's health.
He did not suffer from the disease severely. Although this made me a little happy, it did not distract me from the thoughts in my mind, in short, it did not relieve me.

Not being able to tell my friends that my father had corona made me more depressed. I could not tell anyone because people had so much trouble.
I also didn't want to bother them with my problem. But I told my problem to my friends, who realized that my morale was bad in our online chats every evening and they helped me a lot. They always tried to raise my morale

They tried to amuse me. But still, when I went to bed at the end of the day, I spent hours thinking about what I would do if something happened to my father. I was really in a bad mood. My father's corona brought some difficulties besides psychology. When my father got corona, he had to stay at home and rest in order to recover. For this reason, he could not go to work for a while.

Since we could not receive a salary , we had to make some restrictions as a family. In other words, we could not spend other than basic needs. It was difficult at first, but my father's recovery from day to day gave us strength. Fortunately, my father had a regular job, but many people who did not have a regular job became unemployed. Especially the tradesmen in our country. They could not bring home the bread.

I hope the pandemic ends as soon as possible and the economic problems do not increase day by day. I did some activities to forget my father's illness and to distract myself in this difficult situation. I talked to my friends or relatives via social media. I watched a lot of serials that I couldn't watch. I spent more time with my family than before. We watched movies and TV shows together, chatted, played games that we could play together. But home and the situation of my father started to get really boring.

I miss the old days. To be able to hug each other, to be a guest at the door, to be able to travel freely, to be able to eat and drink together, to hang out with friends....
How ordinary they were at the time, but now they are the things that everyone longs for. Our elders always say "oh, the old days!" But now we wish that everything would be the same as before and that we can spend time together with our loved ones without fear and hesitation; we canl share our eraser and pencil without fear;

I am looking forward to the days that we will hug and kiss our loved ones warmly. Experts and doctors are trying to find a vaccine and they say that if a vaccine is found, the effect of this disease will decrease, I hope that the pandemic will end as soon as possible and we can continue our project and our lives from where we left off.

Hello dear friends, we had been so happy before 11th March because we would have met our project partners of our Erasmus project. It was a turning point for us as our schools closed down on that very day. We were shocked at first and didn't know what to do because this was happening for the first time in our lives. We thought it was a temporary situation but then we realized that it wasn't. In two weeks time after the closure, we started our on-line lessons, it was a bit complicated for most of us because again this was a new situation for us.

In a short time we got used to teaching and learning through on-line lessons but the situation wasn't so good as we were afraid of getting infected.
Here are my students' views ;
Sudenur.rbartın : covid19 changed our whole lives. I was a high school freshman last year and I couldn't even feel the excitement of starting a new school.
Irmak.rbartın; Covid 19 has seriously affected our education life, although teachers did their best to give online education in the best way, it was not as effective as school.
Arda.rbartın:Despite all my efforts and vaccination to avoid getting covid for two years, I am now down with covid, so sorry.
Melis.rbartın; Despite everything, I feel hopeful for the future. I believe this will end soon.
Onur.rbartın; I'm happy to be in this project.

Boran.rbartın;I'm trying to get over the damage pandemic done to us by participating in eTwinning projects at school, frankly, it's good for me.
Esma.rbartın; I got covid and it was terrible.
Yaren.rbartın; I was happy that we wouldgo abroad to meet our project partners, when I heard the news that we couldn't go I was devastated.
Isıl.rbartın; We couldn't meet our partners in person but at least we are still in touch via eTwinning projects.
Eren.rbartın; at least we are still having education at school.
I feel so good to be at school with my friends.
Yunus.rbartın; I like to be active in the projects, ı feel good
when I work with partners from different countries.

When the Covid 19 pandemic was first heard in our country, it was thought whether China would come here. Soon the first case was seen and it started to spread. Our Ministry of Health worked with great devotion and took the epidemic under control. Our schools were closed and we switched to remote education. Distance education is very popular in schools and on the eba portal of national education. has been carried out with great success. With the discovery of the vaccine and its arrival in our country, we breathed a sigh of relief.

COVİD 19 :he Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is a virus that was first identified on January 13, 2020, as a result of research conducted in a group of patients who developed respiratory symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) in Wuhan Province, China, in late December. The outbreak was initially detected in those found in the seafood and animal market in this region. Later, it spread from person to person and spread to other cities in Hubei province, especially in Wuhan, other provinces of the People's Republic of China and other world countries.

What are the symptoms? Although it has been reported that there may be asymptomatic cases, their rate is unknown. The most common symptoms are fever, cough and shortness of breath. In severe cases, pneumonia, severe respiratory failure, renal failure and death may develop. How is it found? It is transmitted by coughing and sneezing of sick individuals and inhaling droplets scattered in the environment. After touching surfaces contaminated with respiratory particles, the virus can also be taken by taking the hands to the face, eyes, nose or mouth without washing them. Contact with eyes, nose or mouth with dirty hands is risky.

Who Is More At Risk? Information so far regarding COVID-19 infection has shown that some people are at greater risk of getting sick and developing severe symptoms. - 80% of cases have mild disease. - 20% of cases are treated in hospital conditions. - The disease usually affects people aged 60 and over more.
People Most Affected by the Disease: - Those over 60 years old - People with serious chronic medical conditions: - Heart disease - hypertension - Diabetes - Chronic respiratory disease - Like cancer - Health workers

What are the Ways of Protection?
It is recommended not to travel abroad as much as possible. In cases where it is compulsory to go abroad, the following rules should be observed: The basic principles recommended to reduce the overall risk of transmission of acute respiratory infections also apply to Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). These; - Attention should be paid to hand cleaning. I don't know what path to follow when the pandemic started. I thought it was a short time since I didn't know that the pandemic would last this long. When I started to realize that the pandemic was going on for a long time, I realized that it wouldn't be like this. Because I couldn't get anywhere with constantly unproductive days.At the end of 1.5 months, I focused on myself and started to think about what to do. I used to have a special interest in painting, but due to my work, I did not have enough time for painting. When I finished my daily work, I realized that I had a lot of free time. While I had this opportunity, I realized that I could improve myself and started with the canvas and acrylic paints I had.

As time passed, I realized that I was improving in painting. I was very happy when I realized my own talent. Apart from painting, I also focused on my own lessons. I focused on completing my shortcomings that I noticed. I started to improve myself in language and accent. I noticed the deficiencies in grammar and accent and realized that I was doing it the wrong way and changed my way of working. When I got these things done, I was thinking about software and coding. It's something I've been doing since 5th grade. If I've been doing it for so long then I thought why not develop it. In terms of nutrition, I focused myself on eating healthier and started to be healthier. Finally, I realized that, no matter how badly affected, everyone became aware of themselves thanks to the pandemic. Maybe if it wasn't for the pandemic, I wouldn't be able to realize myself and the things I postponed would always be unfinished. In short, the pandemic has drastically changed my own habits.

For a while, there was talk of an epidemic disease that spread rapidly all over the world in the news. Various measures were started to be taken in our country in line with the statements of scientists, who said that the disease is rapidly transmitted from person to person and that countries should take the necessary precautions as soon as possible. One day, when I came home from school, I learned on television that schools would be closed and education would continue until eleven. It was our first time attending classes from home. This was a different situation for us. Our first lesson was Biology. It was quite exciting. In the following days, we learned that some of our friends could not attend the classes because they did not have internet or because they did not have a computer, tablet or phone. They were also following the lessons on the TRT EBA channel. ( Semanur B.)

Distance education was a difficult situation for some students. We couldn't make eye contact with our teachers as much as face-to-face education. Therefore, we could not fully understand the lessons. When the Corona virus case first came out, I was very worried. Corona was quickly infecting those who acted imprudently and making people sick. While some of them survived the disease mildly, some of them, especially the elderly, had a very difficult time. I know this because I live in this situation in my family. In order to prevent contamination, we were leaving everything that was taken into the house on the balcony for 2 days and washing all the products that could be washed. Everyone who entered the house was disinfecting himself, we were cleaning the house frequently. Thanks to the measures and information taken by the country, my worries decreased over time. Now I know that when we pay attention to the mask - distance - hygiene rules, our risk of getting sick is very low and I follow all the rules. ( İrem T.)

The whole world was alarmed for the Corona virus. Some countries started vaccine studies, and soon after, the vaccine called Sinovac was started to be applied. After the vaccination, schools were opened gradually, 2 days a week. The opening of schools made me and my classmates very happy. Face-to-face training was risky but more productive. In order to minimize the risks, our teachers and we were following the social distance - mask and hygiene rules. Some of our friends who did not follow these rules were catching this disease. Our friends who did not comply with the measures realized too late that they could cause this disease to infect both us and our grandparents at home. (Medinenur U.)

I realized the importance of the hikes that I hadn't been able to see with our relatives and relatives, which I hadn't noticed before. I gained the habit of reading books that I had acquired during the quarantine periods when I was at home. I faced the fear that losing our loved ones is due to a disease and that it could happen to anyone at any moment. I understood your days better and my sense of empathy improved.(Sinem T. )
