Elise and Emerson's story began in the year 2019, when COVID-19 was first discovered.

The twins, age 12, were both infected by the virus as well as their parents. With no vaccines and limited health care, the family continued to get worse, eventually experiencing life threatening symptoms.

AHCHOO!

A week has passed and Elise, Emerson, and their mother are starting to feel better.

Unfortunately, their dad became seriously ill from the virus and was taken into the hospital for emergency care.

 It was devastating for the twins to watch their dad go through agony.

Five days later, the mother received a call from the nurse at the hospital. Covid had taken their dad.

Elise and Emerson were heartbroken for days. Accepting their dad's passing was difficult. The twins would stay up for days trying to find a cure for covid. Although they couldn’t save their dad, they could help millions by finding this cure.

One night, the twins were up testing out different formulas for a cure. One of Emerson's measurements was off. Without realizing, he put the wrong measurements into his formula and the solution exploded!

The solution got all over the place. It was all over their hair, arms, and faces. After they cleaned up the mess, they both went to bed.

Look what you've done!

The morning came, Elise and Emerson were still in bed because they weren’t feeling well. Their mom brought them their favourite soup to make them feel better.

My head hurts

Elise and Emerson felt better and went to school the next day.

One of the twins classmates was coughing and sneezing in the classroom.

*Cough*

We need to start wearing masks!

The boy let out a big sneeze. Elise and Emerson put out there hands to protect themselves from the bacteria and their magic powers came out.

The twins had no idea what happened, but it looked like they  stopped the bacteria from hitting them.  

How did you guys do that?

I don't know we just tried to stop the bacteria from hitting us. 

Elise and Emerson went home after school. They quickly ran up to their rooms to discuss the incident in the classroom.

I think the formula we were testing has given us powers!

Yeah, I think we killed the bacteria coming towards us. Does that mean we can sanitize people with the virus?
