Hi there! I´ m Tatiana! My 3rd Primary students and I want to tell you about our festivals and main places to visit. Are you ready to make your luggage and visit Asturias? Let´ s go!

Let´ s know about some festivals and festivities!

We are in Gijón, a nice city in the north coast of Asturias (Spain.)
This is our school. It´s called Los Pericones.

MAGÜESTU


We celebrate the famous Autumn festival in Asturias known as "Magüestu".
We listen to traditional songs, we dance, we eat chestnusts and we drink sweet cider. We enjoy
a lot at the school playground.












The school is decorated and everybody wears traditional costumes.











In December we celebrate Xmas. These days we make some workshops at school and the city is full of lights.

We made some snowmen with rice and socks. Aren´ t they cute?
We also send letters to Santa and the Three Wise Men!







We made Xmas cards, too!




Houses and streets are fully decorated!


In February we celebrate CARNIVAL!

I´ m Patarrona. I tell children what to wear every day.
Hats, funny ties or mismatched socks!




We play games and have fun! We love disguishing!















We also make nice carnival masks in class!
TEACHERS ALSO WEAR COSTUMES!

It is celebrated in August. There are concerts and lots of activities but the most famous is the fireworks night.
BIG WEEK


The so called BLACK WEEK takes places in July. It is a famous cultural event. Thousands of people visit it.

Gijón


If you visit Asturias, Gijón is always a good choice! You can enjoy sightseeing, clubbing, tasting its delicous food, swimming and sunbathing in its beautiful beaches or just relaxing having a cocktail by the sea.









The old town known as "Cimavilla" is a good option to enjoy visiting museums and tasting our cider and seafood.

Cangas de Onís a is very touristic place. Its landscapes are wonderful.

I´ m Letizia, the Queen of Spain. I come from Oviedo, the capital city of Asturias.
I´ m Fernando Alonso, a formula-1 race car driver.

I´ m Margarita Salas, a well-known scientist.
