CIVA NEDİR?

Cıva, dokusu ve görünüşü çok nazik olan ve nadir kimyasal özellikler barındıran önemli bir element. Isı, gaz veya sıvı ölçen aletlerden tıp sektörüne kadar birçok alanda kullanımı olan cıva, “zincifre” adlı kırmızı bir madenden elde edilen metalik gri bir maddedir. Altın ve gümüşü cevherlerden ayrıştırmak için cıva kullanılır. Çok güçlü bir çözücüdür.

WHAT IS MERCURY?
Mercury is an important element that is very delicate in texture and appearance, and has rare chemical properties. Mercury, which is used in many areas from instruments measuring heat, gas or liquid to the medical sector, is a metallic gray substance obtained from a red mine called "chain". Mercury is used to separate gold and silver from ores. It is a very strong solvent.

CIVANIN ZARARLARI NELERDİR?

Cıva çok küçük miktarlarda bile etkili olabilen bir sinir sistemi toksinidir. Merkez sinir sistemini ve böbrek sistemini doğrudan etkiler. Gelişim bozukluklarına, hareket ve beyin işlevi bozukluklarına neden olur. Kolayca buharlaşarak, renksiz bir buhar halinde havaya karışması onu gizli bir toksin durumuna getirir. Cıva ve bileşiklerinin etkisi doz, etkilenen kişinin yaşı, etkilenim süresi, etkilenim yolu, etkilenen kişinin sağlığı ve beslenme düzeyi ile ilişkilidir. Cıvanın solunması kimyasal akciğer yangısına, doku yıkımına yol açan bronşit oluşumuna neden olur ve etkilenim sürerse ölümle sonuçlanır. Anorganik cıva tuzları böbrek ve merkez sinir sistemine ileri derecede toksiktir. Metil cıva mikrotübül oluşumunu, nöronlarda protein sentezini engeller. Hücre zarı etkinliğini değiştirir, DNA sentezini bozar. Sonuçta sinir sistemine çok ileri derecede toksik etki yapar. Metalik cıva buharına bağlı yüksek doz, kısa süreli etkilenimlerde, akciğer hasarı, bulantı, kusma, ishal, kalp hızı ve kan basıncında artış, deride kızarıklık, göz tahrişi gibi bulgular ortaya çıkabilmektedir.

WHAT ARE THE DAMAGES OF MERCURY?
Mercury is a nervous system toxin that can be effective even in very small amounts. It directly affects the central nervous system and the kidney system. It causes developmental disorders, movement and brain function disorders. It evaporates easily and enters the air as a colorless vapor, making it a latent toxin. The effect of mercury and its compounds is related to the dose, age of the affected person, duration of exposure, route of exposure, health and nutritional level of the affected person. Exposure is determined by measuring the level of urine, hair, and blood.

Inhalation of mercury causes chemical lung inflammation, the formation of bronchitis leading to tissue destruction, and death if the exposure persists. Inorganic mercury salts are highly toxic to the kidney and central nervous system. Methyl mercury inhibits microtubule formation and protein synthesis in neurons. It changes the cell membrane efficiency, impairs DNA synthesis. As a result, it has a highly toxic effect on the nervous system. Symptoms such as lung damage, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increased heart rate and blood pressure, skin redness, and eye irritation may occur in high doses and shortterm exposures doe to metallic mercury vapor.

ALINMASI GEREKEN ÖNLEMLER

Cıva zehirlenmesi vuku bulması durumunda derhal Bakanlığımız Ulusal Zehir Danışma Merkezi (UZEM) 114 telefon numarasından aranarak bilgi verilmeli ve buradan alınacak tavsiyelere uygun olarak işlem yapılmalıdır. Ağır metal zehirlenmelerinde antidot olarak Dimaval maddesi kullanılmakta olup temini ile ilgili olarak burayla irtibata geçilmesi gerekmektedir.

PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE
In case of mercury poisoning, information should be given by calling our Ministry's National Toxic Information Center (UZEM) 114 immediately and action should be taken in accordance with the recommendations to be received from here. Dimaval substance is used as an antidote in heavy metal poisoning and it is necessary to contact here for its supply.
