DUCK DUCK GOOSE

At our school, we play a variation of this traditional game to review English vocabulary.
This is how we learn English by having lots of fun! Keep reading!

HOW TO PLAY DUCK DUCK GOOSE:
1. Sit down on the floor forming a circle.
2. Choose someone to be "it".
3. "It" goes round the outside of the circle tapping heads while saying "duck, duck, duck..." for each head until he/she says "goose" and that person has to stand up and run to catch "it" before he/she sits down on his/her place.
4. If "it" catches the "goose" now it will be the turn for the "goose" to be "it" and, if not, "it" will play that role again.
OUR VERSION TO REVIEW ENGLISH VOCABULARY IN A FUN WAY:
The chosen person to be "it" taps his/her classmates heads while saying words from a same semantic field (colours, numbers, animals, food items, etc) instead of saying just "duck" all the time, and then he/she says a word that doesn't belong to that semantic field instead of saying "goose". This is how we learn by having fun!

The students queue. There are hands and feet painted before in threes on the floor. First student starts the game. When s/he reaches to the fourth line, the next student joins the game. It continues like this. The important things that students have to do are:
1. Hands and feet are drawn in different places in each line and their number varies. Students touch the ground with different hands or two hands and step on the ground with different feet or two feet.
2. While doing these movements, they say what their hands or feet are touching the ground at every turn. For example two hands, one foot...etc. Those who fail to do like this are out of the game and the last student is the winner.

WHO TOOK THE COOKIE FROM THE COOKIE JAR?
'Who took the cookie?' is a classic childrens game that you can play anywhere, anytime. First of all, learn the song 'Who took the cookie?'and focus on the rhythm of the chant. Rhythmic clapping make it a lot of fun to chant along. As we chant, we try to find who took the cookie by asking eveyone in the circle if they took the cookie until we find the one who did.

Before the game starts, everyone closes their eyes and the teacher walks around the outside of the circle and picks a student to be the person who took the cookie. The teacher'll give that student a cookie prop or a cookie flashcard. Then everyone opens their eyes and the game starts by tapping and clapping. Students will make a guess who took the cookie. The chant continues until someone guesses correctly. Once the person who took the cookie is revealed, they can show the cookie and offer to share it with the rest of the class.
