The Legend of
Alex Kim
A Special Birthday Boy

Once upon a time...
...there was an old man and woman who
lived in a small village near a beautiful
forest. They were very sad because they had
no children.

One day, the old man went out to the forest to cut
some trees. His wife walked to the river to wash her
clothes. But, when she arrived, she saw a giant peach
floating down the river.
"Wow, that is a huge peach," she said. "It looks as
large as the moon!”
"Come here you big peach!" shouted the woman.
Slowly, as if by magic, the peach floated close to the
woman.
"This sure is a mysterious peach," she said.

The old woman tried to lift the peach, but it was
very heavy. It took her more than three hours to
carry the peach back to the house. That night the old
man returned from the forest, hungry and ready for
dinner.
"Whoa," he said, seeing the peach. "That's the
biggest peach I have ever seen. It looks delicious!"

WAAAAAHHH!
The old woman began to cut open the peach, but
she stopped when she heard a cry from inside.
Suddenly, the peach cracked open and out popped
a beautiful baby boy. The two were so surprised,
but also happy to have a son. They decided to
name him Alex Kim.

Alex's mother and father fed him well and he grew
tall. Alex especially liked his mother's fried chicken
and bread, which gave him incredible strength and
power.

One day, Alex went to the village with his father.
They bought rice for their dinner and some fruits.
Everything was perfect until Alex heard a man
talking about three crazy monsters. They lived on
Devil's Island, but always came to fight the villagers
and take their food and money.
Alex was a very brave boy and decided to go to
Devil's Island and fight these monsters.

His parents were worried but Alex left the next day.
His mother packed him a big bag of her special
cupcakes.
"Eat these when you need strength," she told him, as
she kissed him on the cheek. Alex took the cupcakes
from his mother and waved goodbye.

One day, Alex met a dog in the forest. The dog
could smell that he had some delicious food.
"Won't you please share your food with me?”
asked the dog.
Alex was a kind boy and gave the dog a cupcake.
They became friends and the dog carried Alex's
bag for a while.
