“My Wondrous Dream”

    “After an exhausting day at school, I finally came home!” Alexis said as she lay down on her bed. It has been such a long day at school and Alexis was very tired. She is a grade 5 student and does lots of curricular and co-curricular activities. She is a fun to be with girl and very kind to everyone. She is very friendly and caring that she has a lot of friends.   .\

As she fell asleep, she heard some noise and suddenly woke up. She looked around and she was floating in mid-air! She screamed in fear and a tap on her shoulder made her flinch. As she looked behind, she saw a horse with… wings and a horn? She was so confused and thought she was going crazy! Until it spoke, “Alexis, you’re awake!” She asked the creature, “Where am I?” The creature replied with a kind smile, “You are in Dreamland!” Alexis was in shock. The creature continued, “I’m Moonshine!”

Hello I`m Moonshine!

    Alexis was so happy to hear that she is in Dreamland. She enjoyed sightseeing, looking at the colorful flowers around made her really love the place. Moonshine told Alexis to follow her. She was confused, but still followed. 

    They hid in a bush. After about fifteen minutes, they saw a princess passing by while all the people were bowing down, trembling and shaking before her.  She asked, “Why did we hide in a bush? Who is she?” Moonshine responded, “She is Princess Nadia, the ruler of this kingdom. People are afraid of her because they say she is selfish and looks only after herself. She is powerful and does what she always wants to do without thinking about other people.” “Is that so?” Alexis doubted. “Isn’t she powerful enough?” Moonshine explained, “Well, people say she wants more magical powers. She wants everyone to bow down to her and like her.”  

    Afterwards, the princess was perspiring a lot from the heat. A woman noticed her and offered a handkerchief. “Your highness, if I may, I want to wipe your sweat.” Princess Nadia was a bit shocked, she looked like she didn’t know how to react to such brazen yet kind gesture. All she could utter was, “Dare not! Go away!” In that instance, Alexis saw something in Princess Nadia that may dispel her frightening image. She may not be that fearful royalty people think she is after all.

Go away!

  Nonetheless, Alexis felt bad for the fairies being ruled by this so-called bratty princess. She asked Moonshine where Princess Nadia’s castle is, and Moonshine gave her the directions to Nadia’s kingdom.  Alexis had a plan for Nadia. She thought of being friends with her. She thought that maybe Princess Nadia only wants her subjects to take delight in her, but she is misunderstood, and instead of being loved, she is now being feared.

    Alexis arrived at the Nadia’s castle. She saw Princess Nadia sitting on her throne alone. Alexis took courage to greet her, “A warm hello to you, your highness. I am Alexis.” 

    The princess looked at her with such surprise. Her eyes widened when she saw a girl in her castle unafraid of her. Quite vexed yet nervous, she asked her, “Aren’t you afraid of me?” Alexis nonchalantly responded, “Your highness, is there a reason why I should be afraid of you? 

    “Haven’t you heard? I get upset when people don’t bow to me,” Princess Nadia snooted.
