OUR JANUARY EDUCATIONAL GAME DESIGN
PLASTIC BOTTLE

SÜMEYYE AYDIN - Şehit Muharrem Kerem Yıldız İmam Hatip Secondary School
https://youtu.be/KAcDHiaQH5g
Win - Convert
Our game is played with two groups: group A and group B ...
The game consists of 3 rounds. In each round, students are asked 10 questions in order. The questions are taken from the question cards section in the middle. There are penalty and chance cards among the question cards.
If the student reads the question and answers correctly, he takes the cap, which is the point value of the question, from the station he is in and throws it to the recycling factory. If he does not answer correctly, he can't get points and proceeds to the next station.After3 rounds are completed, each group counts the points on the caps they have collected in their own factory. The winning group is determined.

RACING TO BOTTLES
We designed an educational game with plastic bottles. We categorized the sports and write the names of the sports onto the tongue depressors. Then we had a contest about putting the right sports into the correct bottle of sports types. We had a lot of fun together.

Bottle Racing: In this activity, cars were designed using balloons and plastic bottles. The thrust of the air inside the balloon was used. Races were made with these vehicles. The student who drives the car that reaches the line first is asked a question about the course content. If they answer correctly, they get 10 points. Whoever gets the highest score in 5 games wins

Adevăr sau provocare/Truth or dare
Dare each participant has the choice in whether they would like to complete a challenge, or express a truth. Dares are challenges that must be completed by the participant that they were given to. If a dare is not completed, there will be a penalty that will be decided by all participants in the game. For example, if someone refuses to do a dare, the group may decide that player cannot blink until next round. If a participant chooses Truth, he or she must answer the given question truthfully. The players may decide if there were will be limited or unlimited amount of truths for each player. In the game of Truth or Dare, it is no fun if people pick truth every single time. For an exciting game of Truth or Dare, 5 truths per person is recommended.

Bottle Puppet : We studied with plastic bottles in order to make a bottle puppet for 5th grade users. Students collected different sizes of bottles and we put all them together for a puppet which can be used in Body Parts and Illnesses topics with 5th graders. They can play "guess & stick" game and also while studying body parts, it worked really well. Students can also add some more body parts afterwards. Our puppet was used for other dialogue and speaking activities which makes it more sustainable.

In the shell game, three or more identical containers (which may be cups, shells, bottle caps, or anything else) are placed face-down on a surface. A small ball is placed beneath one of these containers so that it cannot be seen, and they are then shuffled by the operator in plain view. One or more players are invited to bet on which container holds the ball – typically, the operator offers to double the player's stake if they guess right. Where the game is played honestly, the operator can win if he shuffles the containers in a way which the player cannot follow.

Finally, they made a full sentence which is selected and created as they wish. Sometimes the ball may not land on the hole at all, or it will land on the hole with no points. :) This was the case, that group could not get points and the turn passed to the next student. „Moara” is a very easy game, which you can make by yourself. You don’t need much for it, just a pen, a piece of paper and nine game pieces of a colour, and another nine of another colour. These game pieces can be buttons, plastic bottle lids, etc.
You have to draw on the paper three rectangles one in the other, then draw 24 dots on these rectangles, 8 on each of them, afterwards put the game pieces on them, where do you want. Of course, you have to put your pieces on a free dot. When you finished placing the pieces on the game board, you can start moving your pieces. It is a type of a chess: you can move your pieces with just one dot at a time, which has to be in a straight line with yours, horizontally, vertically, or diagonal.
Your target is to make a “moara”, which means to have three of your pieces on the same line. Every time you have a straight line of three, those three pieces are safe, and you don’t need to move them anymore and they can’t be eliminated, but you can eliminate one of your opponent’s pieces.
The winner is the one who manages to eliminate opponent’s pieces, untill he have just 2 of them, so he can’t make any other straight line of three.
In this game you can think of some strategies, intelligent moves and ways of making a straight line. ENJOY!
