these four has been looking for a good place to raise their family. They
had just recently moved from Persia, in which they have been looking for
a place that has grown closer in a community and also live in a place

Journal- Day 1
After walking from where we left, we have to get
use to this new setting. In Egypt there’s a lot more
people here, around 1-2 million. We haven't found
shelter yet to get us from the suns heat. In two days
worth of treaveling, we traveled through the cities
Mendes, Avaris, and stopped in the capital of Egypt,
Amarna. My family and I are really exhausted at this
point. After a while we came across some people that
offered to help us. We told them about our situation
and they wanted us to stay in their home until we get
a place of our own.

We stayed up all night talking about the
lifestyle here. They are ruled by the Pharaohs
which had many different roles like, watching over
the law courts, chief of the temples, and
supervised water systems. The Pharaohs were so
important to the Egyptians that they were taken
place to place on a chair carried by servants.
Although the rights of women weren't the best, it
was still better than a lot of other places.

Journal-Day 2 Continued
Women could work in high end jobs like men. They were able to
sell and buy land, be priestesses, supervisors, and administrators.
One woman even became a Pharaoh! On the other hand, the
downfall for being a women if one decides to talk disrespectfully to a
man their mouth gets crushed by a brick. We also learned that the
slaves here had little to no pay and seen as hardworking or gross by
the public.

Eboni's JournalJournal- Day 3
As I was exploring the town this afternoon, I had realized all the
different descriptions or pictures that they use for writing. I had
asked what these meant what language it was. They explained to
me that it was the language of arabic to me by mentioning that it
has 28 total letters and is just like many other languages in this
world. This style of language is not going to be hard to learn
because it is similar in a lot of ways.

Journal- Day 3 Continued
My mother told me to be home by a certain time, this made me
realize the awesome time system that they have here, they either
use a sundial to forecast the time with a shadow, or use a water
bowl with a hole drilled into it so the water will leak at a certain rate
which will tell the time. This helped me alot in figuring out when I
have to be at certain places at certain times of the day.

Eboni's JournalJournal- Day 4
Today is the day that my parents decided to apply for jobs. My
Father was hoping to be a merchant, and my mother wanted to get a
job as a baker for now and move on as a craftsman which was higher
in the social classes. The social classes were pretty much divided up
by pharaohs, upper class, middle class, and peasants. Pharaohs were
the very highest in the social classes because they are the kings and
rulers of Egypt and pretty much had everything handed to them.

Journal-Day 4 Continued
The people we live with are both priest, upper class, and I’ve been
wondering what their religion was like. They told us that my brother
and I could go to with them to work and learn more about it. When I
grow up to get my own job here I was looking forward to be a baker
just because it seems fun. And of course the slaves were at the very
bottom of it all in the peasants class and barely got anything. I was
surprised that woman could pretty much any job a man a could do
and it seemed like a lot of women took advantage of that.
