the diversed and rich
cultural heritage of Poland

Poland is a country with over a thousand years of tradition and a turbulent history which may be traced through its various historic, religious, industrial and architectural monuments and relics.
Most of these have been well preserved within the major urban centres of Krakow, Gdansk, Poznan, Wroclaw or Sandomierz.
THERE ARE 17 PLACES IN POLAND
INSCRIBED ON THE WORLD HERITAGE LIST!

Malbork Castle is located in the north of Poland, on the east bank of the River Nogat. It is the most complete and elaborate example of a Gothic brick-built castle complex in the characteristic and unique style of the Teutonic Order. The Castle played a vital role in the history of Europe and is the major material manifestation of the Crusades in eastern Europe and the conversion to Christianity of the Baltic people.

Bialowieza Forest is a large forest complex located on the border between Poland and Belarus. Thanks to several ages of protection the Forest had survived in its natural state to this day.

The Bialowieza National Park, Poland, was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1979.It is home to the largest population of the property’s iconic species, the European bison!

The Wieliczka and Bochnia salt mines are located on the same geological rock salt deposit in southern Poland. They illustrate the historic stages of the development of mining techniques in Europe, from the 13th to the 20th centuries.
There are galleries which extend to great depths and excavations that were made into chapels.
An underground tourist route has existed since the early 19th century.

Located in Upper Silesia, in southern Poland, one of the main mining areas of central Europe, the property includes the entire underground mine with adits, shafts, galleries and other features of the water management system.
Most of the property is situated underground.
Tarnowskie Gory represents a significant contribution to the global production of lead and zinc.

That's our city!!!
The Historic Centre of Kraków, the former capital of Poland,
is situated at the foot of the Royal Wawel Castle. The 13th-century merchants' town has Europe's largest market square and numerous historical houses, palaces and churches with their magnificent interiors.
There is one of the best universities in Poland - famous Jagellonian University and the Gothic cathedral where the kings of Poland were buried.

The Historic Centre of Warsaw is a rare example of the complex reconstruction of a city that was totally destroyed during the II World War.
The rebuilding of the historic city (85% was destroyed), was the result of the determination of the inhabitants and the support of the whole nation.
This reconstruction of the heritage is on a unique scale
in the history of the world.

Auschwitz Birkenau Concentration camp

Auschwitz Birkenau was the largest of the concentration camp complexes created by the Nazi German regime. Between the years 1942-1944 it became the main mass extermination camp where Jews were tortured and killed for their so-called racial origins. According to historical investigations, 1.5 million people, among them a great number of Jews, were systematically starved, tortured and murdered in this camp.
