Once upon a time a very long time ago a little boy named James lived in a very small town named Sheep-Vile. This town was home to multiple shepherds and their families. All of the older children took turns looking after the big flock of sheep. James had never done it yet, but I can tell you he was getting quite anxious. Every time that M. Bartlett came and knocked on his family's door, he would get so excited. But every time the knock was for his older brother James.    

    Once he was so disappointed that he hid in the bush and watched the flock as if it was his turn even though his brother was not even 20 feet away from him. He would stay there all night and watch the flock constantly. A few times he thought he was going to fall asleep so he would slap his cheeks as quickly and quietly he could. The next day his parents asked him how he slept, so he simply said that he slept as if he was counting sheep. He then scurried out the door to get a little nap in the barn before getting on with his day.

    That afternoon James and his little sister Ava went outside. When James was doing his chores Ava saw a little sheep that had wandered away from the flock. Ava was so excited that she ran up to the little sheep and gave it a big hug. She tried to get James' attention but failed to, so she ran to the barn and got a halter. 

     She then proceeded to place the halter on the lamb and lead it to a stall in the barn. She called out to her brother James again, but he didn't reply to her. She thought to herself that he was probably just out feeding the other animals. They had chickens, cats, and a dog on their farm. They all kinda lived in harmony together! The dog, Walnut, looked out for all the animals and family members. 

    Their land had mulitpule buildings on it. A barn for the animals, a shop for all the tools, a barn for all their farm equipment, and  of course a house.But the biggest part of their land was taken up by a grain field. Every spring they would all work together and seed it, then throughout the summer they would be put into pairs and would check the water pipes to make sure they were all working correctly. Then finally in the fall they would harvest it all.

    Around 30 minutes later Ava realized that James had been gone for quite a long time. She decided that the lamb would probably be fine in the stall seeing as he had water and food. She then went out to look for James. Following the worn out path that led to the creak she saw some very pretty flowers so she decided to pick them! She then continued on and saw James over by the abandoned cabin that her great grandpa built when he was a kid and his parents lived here.
