Summer in the ocean is such a wonderful time! The warm sun, glittering on the water's
surface.

I am water, part of the ocean, along with my buddies. Their
names are Darla Droplet and
Michael Molecule. My name is
Alana Aqua.

Today is the last day of school before summer vacation,
and we're learning about the
water cycle! Later in the month, the
heat of the sun would carry us up into the
sky, to form clouds. The teacher called it
'evaporation'. Then, when the clouds are too full of water, we will rain/
snow/or hail back down to earth. Which is called 'precipitation'. I'm so excited
for this fun adventure

*1 WEEK LATER* - This morning I woke up and the air felt unusually warm. Maybe today would bethe day of the water cycle! I got up and ready to eat breakfast with my family before heading off to
the park with Darla and Michael. On our walk there I noticed we were rising off the floor! "Ladies and
gentlemen, we are now ready for take off." I said in my best captain's voice to my friends. In the matter
of about 10 minutes, we were connecting to dust to become a cloud in the sky. How exciting!

We stayed up there for a while, and then heard a loud grumble. Soon enough, we fell down. It was likea roller coaster! I hit something hard and opened my eyes to see.. a mountain? I thought we were returning
to the ocean. I was rolling down a little stream of water to what seems to be... dirt. Well, it looks like I'm
going to be gone for longer than expected. I was sinking into the ground! On my way down, I collected
a lot of nutrients and minerals (which I now know is called 'percolation'). Finally I reached an underground
tunnel of water. I know it's called the water table and that now, until I return to my home, I will be
considered ground water. Being underground and all.

I saw some of the water go in another direction and I started moving again. I was pretty much scared outof my wits right now. That is until I saw Darla and Michael floating towards me! "Michael, Darla!" I
called out to them, hoping they would hear me. Thankfully, they did, and began coming towards me.
"Alana! We were so worried!" Darla exclaimed in joy to me. "Me too! But we need to get home!" I stated
the obvious - setting our priorities straight.

"Michael, Darla!"7
After a while of splashing around, we were dumped into an unimaginable blue pool of clear water. The ocean. We finally got home! "Yay! We're finally home!" I all but held in my scream when I
caught view of my house. "Bye Michael, Darla. See you tomorrow!" I called out to them before
running down my driveway and to my awaiting family.
