Storytime:

Everyone please have a story too share with the class, I'm very excited to hear about what you all have to say!

Today in Ms.Reka's class, it was storytime. During this time, everyone in the class shared a story about anything they found interesting. The story could be fictional or non-fictional. Ms. Reka did this with her class so everyone could feel like their voice was important.

Everyone was talking amongst each other, telling each other a little bit about their stories. The children were so interested already hearing snippets about what other classmates were going to say. "I am going to tell a story about a giant owl talking to a king", said Alex.

Sitting at the very back of the classroom, not talking to anyone, was Isabel. She did not want to participate because she was shy and scared of what other people may say about her story.

 Her friend Maxine then approached her and asked her what was wrong. Isabel mentioned how she was scared and felt that others in the class may make fun of her story. Maxine comforted her and told her, "you have nothing to worry about, everyone is nice and will love your story!" 

Although Isabel was comforted by her words, she was still afraid to participate.

Being as nervous as she was, Isabel went to talk to Ms. Reka before storytime. She told her how she felt, and Ms. Reka comforted her. She said that if she did not want to present, she did not have to. But stepping out of her comfort zone and presenting will help her discover something about herself and make her feel closer to her classmates as everyone was sharing a cool story. 

Isabel went back to her seat and thought about what Ms. Reka said. She knew that she wanted to share her story but was still scared since she did not know everyone in the class and felt a little excluded since she was new to the class.
