                       DAY 1      

    "Time to Speak UP!" attends  a language school 

     in London. It is called " LONDON LANGUAGE                 SCHOOL". It is a 14-day speaking course. 

        All students from mixed-students-team     

     will be there. And this will be their first time to        meet in  person. Let's share their excitement in 

             their first  day at school...

Hi everyone. Welcome to London Language School. I am Barbara Taylor . You are going to have a 14-day course here. Now, why don't you come together with a partner and introduce yourself.

Hi, my name is Hakan. I am from Turkiye. Where are you from?

Hi, I am Andra. I am from Romania. I am 17 years old.

I have got a sister. She is older than me. And I have got a younger brother. He is 5 years old.

I am 15 years old. I have got a brother and a sister. How many siblings have you got?

Hi, I am Yağmur and I am from Turkiye. And I am 17 too.

Hi, I amBogdan. I live in Romania. I am 17 years old. How old are you?

Have you ever been to Turkiye? 

No, I haven't. Have you ever been to Romania?

No, I haven't. But I would like to visit there a lot.

         Today is the second day of school. 

  Students are going to talk about their abilities.

    They are having fun and looking forward to         coming together with their classmates.

Good morning class. I feel so energetic because I rode my bike to work. I can ride a bike. Can you ride a bike Yağmur?

Yes Mrs. Taylor, I can ride a bike.

What about you Andra and Hakan? Can you ride a bike?

Andra: Yes Mrs. Taylor, I can ride a bike.

Hakan: Me, too.

Hi Andra, I can swim. Can you do that?

Yes, I can. I am a good swimmer. I can do many sports. I can play Vollleyball, too.

But I am not good at learning new languages. I can only speak English

 I would like to learn an Asian language like Japanese. But I can't because It is too difficult.

I can Speak English. In addition, I can speak a little Spanish, too. I learned it from a Spanish sit-com. Also I watch youtube videos that teaches Spanish. I think I have a talent to learning languages  .

Hi Hakan. I can draw and paint. I usually draw landscapes. Can you draw, too?

No, I am sorry but I can't. I am very bad at drawing. But I like music a lot. I can play guitar and piano.

Don't worry. I can't do many things. For example, I can't play basketball. 

I am really bad at sports.

That's great. I would like to play piano ,too. But I am not good at music. I can't play any musical instrumets

Students tour London and have a great time. They are looking forward to talking about their experiences with Mrs. Taylor.

Today Mrs. Taylor makes a suprise for them. She hopes that they will like her suprise.

Today I woke up very early because I baked a chocolate cake for you. I like baking a lot.

Actually, I don't like any other outdoor activity. I am an indoor kitty. I like staying home and reading.

Really, I am your exact opposite. I don't like staying home. Whenever I have time, I do an outdoor activity. I like trakking, climbing, skating and kanoing.

Hi Hakan. Mrs. Taylor's suprise was great. Do you like making suprises?

I agree. the cake was delicious.

I like suprises a lot, especially suprise birthday parties. But I don't like suprise exams.

      I can't agree more. By the way, What school subjects do you like? I like English, art and literature. What about you?

I like geography a lot. I like learning about the earth and space. But I don't like art because I can't draw.

I like teaching to young learners a lot but unfortunately we have to leave now since this is the end of today's lesson.

 If you like eating ice cream, we can go out  and eat at the famous ice cream shop of London. Would you like that?

Days pass quickly and today is the last day of the language school. Until now, they have practiced their speaking skills with many fun topics and they have improved a self confidence in their English.

Today, they will share their experiences with the future students who would like to join a language school like this. Let's read their comments...

Good morning everyone. Today is the last day of our lessons. I would like you to talk about your feelings about the school. And share your advices to future students about what they should do and should not do if they want to attend a school like this.

I agree with you, Bogdan. At language schools students can learn about the daily expressions of English. They cannot learn it at their regular school. In my opinion, teachers should encourage their students to go abroad to go to a language school for their English.  

London Language School was so fun. I have learned things that I did not know before . I think any English learners should attend a school like this. What do you think Yağmur?

I cannot agree more with Yağmur and Bogdan. I think language learners should put their all efforts to find a way to spend a few days at an abroad language school like this. They shouldn't stick to traditional learning methods. They should try new ways like this.

This was the best experience in my life. I would like all English Language Learners to have a similar experience like us. 

In my view, to attend a school like this,  they should work in an eTwinning or Erasmus projects. They should not feel afraid of participating projects. And they should be as hardworking as they can be.

I have a small advice for you. I think you should keep in touch after you leave for your countries. You should communicate through social media. You should not keep your relation limited to your days at Language  school.
