He pulled the bolt of the wooden door and opened it slowly. His legs were numb from sitting in the chair all night. He stepped out, stepping on the stone standing in the doorway. He took a step or two, bent the index fingers of both hands, rubbing his eyes. The rain, which had been raining intermittently since yesterday, had completely stopped, and the fog cloud that had settled on the plateau had disappeared. He looked at the camp from the hill where the coffee was located. Smoke was rising from the chimneys of several houses. He turned back to his house. The morning drizzle stood like transparent beads on the thin grass. He rubbed his hands on the grass, then on his face. He was startled, he felt cold. He looked back to where his house was. A fear that overcame the anger and regret in him settled in his heart.

Blindly, Feyyaz had spent the night at the cafe again, he muttered to himself. The pain had not kept him awake all night. He had been immersed in the morning, but woke up with the same pain again. He straightened slightly, looking at his children lying on the floor. They lay huddled together in the cold. Now, if his stomach wasn't in his nose, he would get up, light the stove, put a kettle of water on the stove, go down to the barn, feed the cows and milk them. Then he would leave the milk bucket in the kitchen and prepare the children's breakfast. But he had been in pain since the night. She became pregnant with the hopes of having a boy after three girls, and the birth was near. He turned his head to the side where the children were sleeping.

--Hamide, Hamide!

Hamide leaned on the stick in her hand, imitating her mother, and started walking towards the house. He had hurriedly put on his mother's elastics, and he hadn't worn socks either. He felt cold feet and quickened his steps. He stopped when he came to the head of the garden surrounded by barbed wire and stakes. He turned his head to the coffee side and looked at it. She was angry with her father, she couldn't understand why she didn't come home at night. As he passed the garden gate and approached the house, he plunged the tip of the stick into the ground in order not to fall, and slowly descended the slope with the support of him. When he got to the door, he stopped, involuntarily turned his head back. His father was not in sight. Why didn't he come, did something happen to him? While he was thinking these things, he heard his mother's painful cries from inside. He pushed the door hard. The cold outside had entered the house before him through the open door. Emma looked at the open door. He wanted Feyyaz to be the one who opened the door. He would be very angry, he would say whatever he wanted in this painful way. But it was her husband, maybe the only person who could help her in this situation
--I don't know, my aunt, what the hell Feyyaz, I don't know. He went out for coffee in the evening, he didn't come back yet, as he fell over. Come on in, the door is cold, it's cold inside the house too

Feyyaz had a shop in the town. It's an old little shop. He did welding work. He also took care of minor faults. But now most cars are electronic. That's why there wasn't much work for the old masters. Feyyaz used to work well when he was in the shop, but he did not like to stay in the shop very much. He spent most of his time in the cafe, playing games. Usually he would lose. He borrowed money from shopkeepers and friends, often not paying it back. Even if he did, he would pay piecemeal much later. That's why nobody wanted to give money. He sought a loan for Esma's birth, but no one gave it. That's why he had come to the highland a week ago and sold the calf in the barn. Neither Esma nor the children wanted her calf to be sold. There was already a cow and a calf in the barn. He also borrowed some money from his uncle. This money was more than enough for Esma's birth, but he lost it all to Çakır Ali last night in gambling. If Esma heard it, all hell broke loose. He didn't really care about the car business. If they were on the road, someone would definitely pass by. Besides, almost all of the drivers passing this road knew Feyyaz.
