(On the first day of the school , Englısh teacher Murat observes that most students have changed a lot. They are addicted to the telephones and internet. They look a little bit unsocial.It makes upset him and he thinks they have had enough computer skills and now they need more social interaction and improve their kinesthetic skills . He wants his students to create their own English games.

A week later, everybody brings their excellent games desinged and printed by computers. On of the students Hamza looks upset because he doesnt have a perfect Englısh game desinged by computer or done by his parents. His mother and father work very late and have no time to buy extra material for game . He uses a shoe box to create a basketball court and basketball hoop with pipettes. He writes the English words on papers used before . Teacher is happy because this game fulfills his expectations . Everybody is surprised in the class and Hamza becomes very proud of himself .

Other students come to play next to him. They pick a Word and ıf they know the meaning, they get the chance to throw the small ball in to the basket hoop. If they can , they get double points. Everybody come together and play together. Now English is used in an interactive and kinesthetic way. Then the teacher also realizes that Hamza is very enviromental friendly student and thoughtful. Then something comes to Murat teacher’s mind)

Ayşe: Teacher, I have an idea, too.

Murat Teacher: What do you think? We talked about lots of games made of recycled materials. So, I wonder your opinions.

Ayşe: We need a cardboard and a few paper cups to prepare this game. with this game, we can learn adjectives and their antonyms in English.

Murat Teacher: Okay, that sounds interesting. How do we do that game?

Ayşe: First, We can draw circles on a cardboard and write some adjectives in circles. Then, we write the antonyms of these adjectives on the top of cups. the last step is to match the adjestives with their antonyms on the cupboard.

Murat Teacher: Yes, Iike your game.

Beyza: Teacher, I want to add something for this game.

Murat Teacher: yes, please.

Beyza: We can paint the paper cups in two colors and we can be divided into groups. Then, players start to play the game at the same time, the first student gets the points.

Murat Teacher: This is great! I want to remember something to you. We should use the recycled materials to prepare this game, shouldn't we?

Rüzgar: We have lots of old clothes at our homes. We can cut them out, fill with cotton and sew again. Later we sew eyes and mouth on it.

Rüzgar: Exactly sir. That is what I mean. We can use those puppets in our speaking lessons.

Murat Teacher: We really need to put your idea into practice.

Irene: What supplies do we need?

Murat Teacher: We need 2 cardboard boxes, scissors, colored paper, paint, markers and popsicle sticks.

Alisa: Where do you think we should locate these bins?

Murat Teacher: There should be located around the campus with clear signage to inform the community about proper recycling. The stream system for paper, glass, and plastic can be used indoors. The recycling stations accept all recycled materials.

Irene: How will the students find out about our program?

Murat Teacher: One of you should tell them what’s recyclable, where the indoor recycling bins are, where the outdoor recycling bins are, and what your campus recyling goals are. This will help them understand how to recycle effectively.

Alisa: I can't wait to begin working on these bins. Irene you can start spreading the news and find help.

Murat Teacher: I can also be of assistance. We have plenty of time to develop this program.

Mrs: Students, do you know, that you have to learn the IRREGULAR VERBS, but I want to leave your phones and modern technology!

Mehrunka: How to learn them? Isn't easier by phones?

Mrs Hadzhieva: We will write the verbs on recycled paper and will sort them in a box made of recycled materials too.

Yasemin; Can I make it?

Mrs Hadzhieva: Yes, of course!It will be fun, because we will exam each other face to face!

Mehrunka: Yes, we can mimes verbs and then the other student to find it and put in the box the right word and we can also draw pictures of the corresponding actions (IRREGULAR VERBS) and when students know the verb they have to say all three forms.

Mrs. Hadzhieva - Yes, this is also a good idea!

Yasemin: Yes, but we students must have learned the verbs in advance in order to know them!

Mrs. Hadzhieva - Well, yes, this is actually the main idea, students can easily learn the irregular verbs, because they are not few!

Mrs: The result of this games is amazing! When we repeat the verbs students learn them!

EMİR: I always want to be a drummer.I can play different size of drums.I can use old yoghurt cups and toy baloons.

MURAT TEACHER:And you can use old ballpoint pens like drumsticks.

MUHTEREM:I can use metal bottle taps, apiece of cardboard and glue to prepare castanets.

MURAT TEACHER:Any different idea? Come on, i want to see a big band, a big orchestra.

SUDENAZ: I think we need a wid instruments. I can make a panpipes with plastic straws.

İSMAİL: Sir,We can enjoy singing and playing instruments and also we can learn new words.

MURATTEACHER:Yes you are right. Then ok. we will prepare our musical instruments with recycling materials and we will sing songs together so we can enjoy the lesson and also we can learn new vocabulary

Carmen: How about the idea of making some decorative objects from plastics, for example from bottles? Let's organize them according to the type of efficiency.

Professor Murat: We need to put your ideas into practice.

Iulian: What consumable materials do we need?

Professor Murat: For this we need 1/2 l, 1 l plastic bottles, scissors, colored paper, adhesive for gluing, paint bonding, markers and PVC support to mount them.

Carmen: Where do you think we should expose these objects?

Professor Murat: They should be placed in the open space on the ground floor, with a poster to draw the attention of everyone who enters the school and to inform the community about this way of recycling. There are plastic bottles in the school for collecting , so there will be no problem with the materials.

Iulian: How will our classmates find out about this program that we will implement?

Teacher Murat: One of you has to make some posters and send it to the school site administrator to post on the site of school , and others to be displayed on the school notice board, on the doors at the entrances of students and teachers, to see the purpose and objectives of this action . It will be an action to reduce the storage of plastics and to raise awareness of efficient recycling.

Carmen: I look forward to starting to implement my ideas for making plastic decorations.

Iulian: You can start making the poster and distribute the posters and look for colleagues who can get involved to give a helping hand in making as many objects as possible.

Professor Murat: I can help you with information on how to get started. We have enough time to make various objects in this program.

Murat Teacher: all your ideas, dear pupils, are awesome. I think that exposing all these recycled items in the open space of our school will lead other students and orher schools to do the same and to be more and more aware of the importance of recycling for our health and for our planet!

Giovanni: Yes, teacher, I agree with you and In this regard, I've come up with another great idea: why don't we organise an event at the end of the school year, having a big party where we display all the products we have recycled so far?

Murat Teacher: Great idea, Giovanni! Maybe at the end of June....

Sara: Teacher, a party is a very great idea, also because we can dress up in clothes we have made ourselves by recycling fabric and old, forgotten clothes ;-)

Didi:How about we take the X & 0 game to another level.

Murat Teacher:And how do we do that?

Didi:We can take advantage of the fact that no one understood the verb tenses and turn in into a game to learn easily.We can use a cardboard as the base and cut circular pieces out of paper and use them as the X & 0`s.

Murat Teacher:And how could that help us improve?

Didi:The teacher must have prepare a text without the verbs included in the text and write them on a piece of paper.We will choose the correct form of the verb and put it in the missing space.In that way we can easily understand when and where we should use that form of the verb.

Murat Teacher:That sounds amazing, Didi.I`m really proud of you guys , you have such good imagination.I knew I could trust you.

TWO YEARS LATER;

The project of recycling materials and using these materials during classes became widespread at all the schools in that city.

Murat Teacher and his students got a reward for their great project.

Most of the students living in that city became more conscious and careful about recycling and saving resources & earth.
