Hello. Today we are in France in the year 1789, and I am your tour guide. Today I am going to guide through a movement that shook France, as well as provided something new for the United States.

HELLO TIME TRAVEL STUDENTS, READY FOR AN ADVENTURE??.

The French Revolution took place back in France back in 1789, and ended in 1799. It lasted for 12 years. That is a very long time span. How would you like it if you had lived during this time for 12 years?

King Louis the 13th was the King of France. He built the palace of Versailles, which was known for its luxurious beauty.

"Ah, I just love sitting over here looking at my beautiful palace."

France was divided into groups called estates, just like our country is divided into states. France was made up of three of them. An estate is a large area or extended land in a country.

Napoleon was a french military ruler in the French Revolution. He commanded a French army that defeated other armies, but eventually he was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo.

The French used a lot of war implements, such as cannons, guns, and pistols that they made, and some swords. The most famous weapon was the French Musket.

General Lord Charles Cornwallis was the British military leader in the revolutionary war. He supported the British in their fight with America.

The Declaration of independence was written in the year 1776 when Thomas Jefferson wrote this document in demanding independence from Great Britain.

The Revolutionary war lasted for 12 years between Britain, France, and America. Both countries kept on competing with each other.
