Samuel was a trusted friend of the governor of
North Carolina. Samuel was always a useful
person to go to if the governor needed something.
The governor asked Samuel to find new ways to
power North Carolina's major cities like Raleigh,
Cary, and Charlotte. Samuel said "sure anything to
help a friend".
Samuel and the governor worked out the specifics
and then Samuel was off to go find out about new
energy sources such as Wind, Tidal, Solar, and
Biofuel by meeting Engineers who knew about
each energy source.

Putt Putt which is Samuels talking truck was on
the nearby road waiting for him to get out.
Samuel then walked out of the Governor's
house to talk to him. Samuel said "hey Putt
Putt we have a new job. Putt Putt asked
"Whats our new job partner"? Samuel
explained that they had to try to find a new
energy source for North Carolina's major cities.
"Alright then lets go find out what would be the
best option" Putt Putt said.

"Hello you must be Samuel, the Governor told me that you would
show up I am an engineer focused on wind energy". "Yes I am
Samuel and the Governor said that you would tell me about wind
energy". "Wind Energy is generated by the wind pushing on the
blades of the fans and this spins a turbine which creates the
electricity". "Some good things about using wind energy are that it
produces no pollution and is generated by the wind which you don't
have to pay for". Samuel then asked " wow that sure sounds great
are there any downsides to it"? " Wind mills which produce the
energy can be knocked down or hurt if there is any bad weather and
they are really loud so people don't like to be near them". Samuel
asked "wow those aren't that bad where can windmills be put"? "
Well the winds can't be too strong or too soft so only in a few places
like in the mountains and near the ocean". Samuel said " wind
energy sounds really good but I will have to learn more about the
other sources before I make up my mind". Samuel and the Engineer
said goodbye and samuel was off to learn more about Tidal Energy.

Samuel then went to the beach to talk to another
engineer this one focused on Tidal Energy. Samuel and
the Tidal Engineer said hello. Samuel asked the
engineer " what are the upsides of tidal energy"? The
Engineer responded " Tidal Energy is very predictable
and we know when it will work and when it won't, the
tides always go in and out so it isn't limited, and we
know that it hardly hurts the environment at all". The
Engineer said "The main problem with tidal energy is
that it only works underwater and near the coast but
fortunately North Carolina has a lot of area's that will
work for this".

The Engineer said "tidal Energy is created
when the tides push the blades of a fan
causing it to spin and this spins a turbine
which creates the energy".
"This is a picture of what they might look like if
they got installed" the Engineer showed
Samuel the picture.
