Dedicated to stopping Horseshoe Crabs from being eradicated

It was a nice sunny day. The waves on the beach were very calm. Perfect time to lay my eggs I thought. I made my way to the beach and a male horseshoe crab clipped on to me. When I was done laying my eggs, I was making my way back to the water when there were some hands covered in blue fabric picking my fellow horseshoe crabs up. I began to skitter back to the edge of the beach, to safety. Left and right horseshoe crabs were captured. I could still hear the screams ringing in my ears. The white wearing, gloved, masked figures sentenced me to prison in a large box.

When I next came, water was gushing down on torrents. I flailed, trying to escape the ever endless rows of blue fabric holding me and other horseshoe crabs down, under the waterfall. They then put me on an uncomfortable rack like I was merchandise to be purchased at the store. And then they pulled out their worst weapon of all, a sharp looking sliver object that glistened under the lights of the artificial sun. Bending me at the hinge between the larger prosoma and smaller opisthosoma sections they extracted something out of me. I looked down and saw my blue blood being collected somehow, and then I realized that they were draining our blood… but for what? I knew that my blood has special properties which cut, the wound is immediately slathered in bacteria from its murky surroundings. To prevent a potentially fatal infection, certain blood cells carry compounds that cause my blood to clot up when exposed to bacteria. This prevents the bacteria from infecting me. Is that why they want our blood? The pain of realization made me struggle for my breath, and I felt like I was going to me obliviated and I saw stars. My last thought before I went blank was why?
