On a sunny day, a bunny named Moon and a cat named Ren spotted a young girl who moved into the hill house. When she looked out the window a big smile was on her face. She seemed excited to run to the dandelion field.
I am Ami!
I am ren!
I am Moon!
At the dandelion field, the girl held onto a dandelion and wished that the animals she saw could talk to her. Suddenly Moon and Ren introduced themselves and so did Ami. Ren told Ami that she granted her dandelion wish, and that the flowers were magic. As the sun went down Ami had to go home. In Shinto, Kami can be nearly anything that has holy power (“Shinto at a Glance”).
While Ren was asleep, the evil fox spirit came and asked Moon to destroy a patch of dandelions so that Moon will gain the same powers as Ren. Moon falls into his urges and ruins the flowers out of jealousy. Moon falls into temptation from an evil spirit, this comes from the religion Shinto (“Understanding Shinto”).
We need to talk about Moon.
She was the one who destroyed these flowers.
Oh no!
Moon felt a little guilty but she fought back that urge and decided to go on with her task. Ren was upset, she did not know why Moon would do that. Greed overcame Moon, this led to the rotting of the flowers. In Islam, Muslims are warned to be against greed ("Islam").
Ami saw Ren trying to bring the flowers to life by watering them. Seeing that it started to work, Ami joined Ren. Ren's good deed cause Ami to do the same. Together their work caused the dandelion patch to bloom again. Ren saw Ami helping her and decided to grant her a wish for her kindness. In Islam religion, virtuous deeds have a reward ("The Five Pillars of Islam").
Deep down Moon knew that she was not the same as she was before. Ren could not believe how much she changed due to greed and envy. Ren decided to let the flowers rot and show Moon just how things would be without the dandelions. Moon did not know that the dandelions were the wishes and dreams of the people in that town. By ruining the dandelions, the wishes would go away. In Confucianism, Confucious tells people not to be greedy (Carter).
Moon realized that she was lied to. She acted with greed and nothing in return. The world was all gloomy and there was no blue sky left. This was the result of her actions. In Islam, if one is greedy they will go astray ("Religion: Islam").
