Home at last

Hello my Name is Kye, I'm in Military Academy with my friends: Nick,Nico,and Jack. One morning when we were doing our usual 100 pushups, our General pulled us aside 

and told us to come with him into another side room that led to the attic. He told us to go down there with him. We didn't want to be yelled at for being naughty so we followed.

When we got to the bottom of the staircase, he told us to take a seat in some old chairs. When we each took a seat, our General whipped out some ropes and began to tie us up with surprising speed!

Finally our General left. We were left there for hours.  Just then we heard noises coming down the staircase.  It was clomping.  Perhaps they were footsteps.  We thought we were going to be saved.  It was actually our General.  Evil General Larry was coming to check on us.

He told us, "I will not let you save the Olympians.  My master will tear Olympus apart brick by brick.  Every last fountain will be gone.  Every last throne will be pulverized.  Every last Olympian will die.  I will stand beside my Master as his right hand man.

I am a Manticore.  I was banished from Olympus.  I feast on tasty heroes and I will take my revenge upon Zeus, and all the Gods, Olympians and heroes."

Suddenly a trio of warriors burst into the room.

Chapter 2: Fight to the death

One carried a sword.  Another carried a spear.  The third carried a bow with a quiver full of sharp, bronze-tipped arrows.

He notched an arrow.  He drew his bow and fired.

As the arrow flew through the air, General Larry transformed into a beast.  

The beast emerged with the head of a lion, the body of a wolf, and the giant tail of a scorpion.  

The arrow burrowed into the beast's mane, but did nothing but tangle his hair.  The beast lunged at the trio in snarling anger.

The first warrior drew his sword and slashed at the beast.  The second stabbed with his spear.  The third released arrows at deadly speed.

The Manticore howled in pain, but somehow survived the attack.  He slashed at the first warrior.  He got him good in the arm.
