Tasmanian Devil
by
Alayna Jordan
I move fast on my feet and on my hands.
Nobody can catch me, nobody can.
I am stocky and stinky with thick black fur.
I eat kangaroos, wombats, or whatever I
prefer.
On the island of Tasmania in Australia is
where I live.

I am thankful for the
gift they decided to
give.
I was declared
endangered in 2008.
That means that I
am now protected by
the state.

Crocodile
by
James “Ben” Schmiedicke
I am a crocodile
with a toothy grin and a tricky smile.
You won't see me as I hide in the night.
When I find my prey, I snap and bite.
I can munch.
I can crunch.
I have a lot of teeth and an evil frown.
My color is green and brown.
I look like a dragon with a long tail.
My tail may leave a watery trail.

You just might see me if you look carefully
near a swamp.
DO NOT come near me or else I will give you
a CHOMP!!!!

I'm a Gecko
by
Brian Johnson
If you like lizards, you’ll like me.
I live in the desert, that’s home to me.
I can change colors to any color I
want to be.
I’m a gecko, you see.

Badger
by
Christopher McSwain
You may know me by my
friends and family.
We all have short legs and fat bodies.
I am kin to skunks, wolverines,
weasels, and polecats.
I am also known as a ferret.
Check out my gray body,
small ears, short tail, and black face.
The white mark on my forehead
has a badge-like shape.

I am found in much of North America, Ireland, Great
Britain, and Japan.
You can also find me in Scandinavia, China, Malaysia,
and Turkmenistan.

Wise Owl
by
Daijah Beasley
Whoo, Whoo?!
I can fly in the sky.
Whoo, Whoo?!
I like the night, but not daylight.
Whoo, Whoo!
It’s no surprise that I am wise.
Whoo, Whoo?!

SHREW
By
Elle Clay
I’m gray and black,
And blind as a bat.
I’m as round as a ball.
Don’t judge me at all.
Not a rodent but close to moles,
You know the moles that dig holes.
I live underneath the ground,
Where I am safe and sound.
I have sharp teeth,
But I don’t eat meat.

I’m small,
But mighty, no doubt at all.
I shoot venom out of my teeth.
My predators better retreat.
I eat insects, worms, and other shrews
Watch me because I may come after you!

Horseshoe Crab
by
Jeffery “Gage” Sealey
I'm a horseshoe crab but not a crab, it's
true.
I have a smaller cousin, he's a scorpion
dude.
Nine eyes, ten legs, and a sharp pointy
tail,
I really love to swim in my round, brown
shell.
Yummy clams and worms, shrimp meat is
sweet,
I have no teeth so my legs help me
eat.

I crawl in the sand when I'm up on the
shore.
I swim upside down and live on the ocean
floor.

I Am A Deer Mouse!
by
Isabella Crownover
I am very small,
not really tall
at all.
Watch out for me,
because I may carry a disease.
I’m brown and white.
I like the night.

RIVER OTTER
by
Jabari Ford
I paddle through the water with my feet.
I move so fast I can’t be beat.
I’m kind of an oval shape.
And I work the river and it is great.
I eat clam meat and fish.
It keeps me full and that’s my wish.

I tend to live in the water down below.
Swimming, jumping, catching fish, putting on a show.
My worst fear is the crocs so I stay away.
So don’t try to find me at day.

Skunk
By
Jada Yates
Don’t mess with me or I’ll spray from behind.
And, that awful smell is sure to
BLOW
YOUR
MIND!
My thick fur you’ll notice because of the white stripe
down my back.
The rest of my fur is mostly black.
I sometimes live in settled neighborhoods,
where garbage cans are great for leftover goods.
Out in the wild, I eat lots of animals, plants, and insects.
Honeybees, earthworms, and frogs are just perfect.
I live outdoors which can be cold in the night.
I do not like to see light.

Hedgehog, Hedgehog
by
Jarah Edwards
Like the porcupine, I am prickly.
And I can roll myself into a ball.
These two traits help me to be safe
When a wolf, a mongoose, or fox comes
to call.
I eat mostly snakes and snails, and frogs
and toads,
And insects because I am small.

Luna Moth
by
Joslyn Bates
I eat from many different
trees.
I like pecan, walnut, and
sweet gum leaves.
My eggs are brown, but I
am green,
with beautiful, 4-inch
wings.
