James Oglethrope

James Oglethorpe is the founder of Savannah/Georgia.
But he couldn't do it without help
Chief Tomochichi

Chief Tomochichi is the chief of the Yamacraw.
He was interested in the British ways

He had a good friendship with Oglethorpe, and he was asked to work as a protector for Oglethrope.

Mary Musgrove
Mary Musgrove is the third person apart of the journey to help find Georgia.

She was half Native American and half British.
She also grew up in the county that we now call Coweta County

James Edward Oglethorpe was a British soldier, Member of Parliament, and philanthropist, as well as the founder of the colony of Georgia in what was then British America.
He was a part of the 21 trustees who put money together to create GA
Philanthropist-
A philanthropist is someone who a person who does kind things for others but doesn't expect anything back.
Parliament-
There is a group of people that choose another group of people to choose the president or leader
Utopia-
an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect.

He is the chief of over 200 strong Yamacraw Natives!
He became allies with Oglethorpe and went to England to push native causes in America

He gave his land to James Oglethorpe to build the city of Savannah.
He was a such good ally with Oglethorpe that he was able to get a military burial
Allies-
Allies is someone who is on your side and/or someone who you really get along with

The Yamacraw were a Native American band that formed in the early 18th century, living-in parts of what became Georgia.
Mainly along the bluffs near the mouth of the Savannah River where it enters the Atlantic Ocean.

She spoke both languages and acted as a translator for both Tomochichi and Oglethorpe.
Becasue she was a female most people thought she had no power, but she proved those people wrong
