
About Benjamin Bloom
Benjamin was born on February 21st, 1913 in Pennsylvania. He went to school at Pennsylvania State University and earned a bachelor's, master's, and a Ph. D in education. Benjamin loved to read all the time. He was considered to be a master in teh education world and loved to teach! He went all around the world to teach and became an advisor to the governments of Israel, India, and other places.

Bloom's Taxonomy
"Bloom's taxonomy is a classification system used to define and distinguish different levels of human cognition—i.e., thinking, learning, and understanding."
1) Knowledge – student will list, define, provide facts
2) Comprehension – student will restate, locate, summarize, identify
3) Application – student will apply, solve, compute, practice
4) Analysis – student will interpret, diagram, outline, compare
5) Synthesis – student will product, invent, develop, improve
6) Evaluation – student will judge, assess, determine, conclude.

In the Classroom
In the classroom, this theory can be used to challenge students in the classroom to think, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create what they have learned. This will have students participating in higher order thinking. This theory can help to create a challenging lesson that will have students expanding their knowledge in the classroom.
PROS
With this theory, there is more organization brought into the lessons.
It can be used in different levels and areas of education.
It can make clear what goals are trying to be achieved by the student and the teacher in the classroom.
CONS
According to some people this theory says that holding a skill level is more important than the child's education.
Some people also say that this theory os outdated.
This theory is sometimes not practical in the classroom for the learning that is trying to be achieved.
