I dedicate this book to all of the phenomenal Practicum 1 ladies. I wouldn't want to go through this crazy journey with anyone else!

Once upon a time in a beautiful forest, there lived a beautiful swan named Ella. Ella was very beautiful, and she knew all too well.

Everywhere she went, she went on and on about the shine of her feathers and the curve of her beak.

"Look at me. Have you met a swan more fair than I? No, for I am the most loveliest swan of all the pond!"

Rider the squirrel and Brooke the racoon both agreed that Ella was very lovely, but they saw the frowns of all the other animals every time Ella past their way.

One day they stopped Ella as she was walking by the pond.
Ella, can we talk to you?
Of course, you would want to speak with me. Everyone should want to speak to me!
You see, dear Ella, we are worried about you. For you do not see the frowns of all the other animals every time you leave.

"You are such a lovely swan and it is wonderful to see your confidence glow within you, but it isn't nice to always rub your confidence in to the other animals and make them feel sad.", Brooke gently told her.
"You don't know what you're talking about. I am the loveliest swan of all the pond!" Ella stubbornly said.
"While that may be true, you should always treat others the way you wanted to be treated. It's the Golden Rule and the law of the land." Rider wisely explained.

Brooke softly added, "We don't want you to get hurt and we want all the animals to get along. We must be on our way, for we have a picnic to get to."
"You go to your silly picnic, I'm going to sunbathe my feathers and prove you all wrong."

A few days later, Ella was walking along the trail and she came to the forest playground. She saw a few animals playing.
"Can I play too?" Ella asked them.
"We don't want to play with you. You think you're better than all of us combined" Penelope the porcupine snapped at her.
"Well I am pretty lovely I know that's true" Ella boldly claimed.

"Thats exactly what I mean. Come on guys let's go play somewhere else." Penelope called to her friends.
Ella sat there and begin to cry. This had never happened to her before, and she was very sad. She remembered what Rider and Brooke had said to her and she started to walk home.

Yeah, her beak crooked and her feathers are ruffled!
