Arthur's birthday is tomorrow and Matilda hasn't even started planning! She has so much to do by tomorrow. Arthur and Matilda are best friends so she has to make it the best party ever!

Matilda decides to write a list of what she has to do and head to her and Arthur's favorite park to think. Wait! Maybe Matilda could have the party here in the park!

The only thing Matilda had for the party was a LOT of presents for Arthur. She realized she had too many to carry by herself. Then she saw some ants find a bag of jelly beans and each carry one so that they could have the whole bag.

The ants gave her an idea! She asked some friends at the park to help her by each carrying one present. They looked just like the ants! This was much easier than carrying them by herself!

Now she had to figure out where to hide the presents so no one would take them. Then she saw a of couple dogs digging a hole to hide their bones.

The dogs gave her an idea! She had to hide the presents just like the dogs hid their bones! She got a shovel and started digging a big hole. When it was done she put all the presents inside.

Arthur's favorite thing to do was to ride his bike with his friends. Matilda wanted to plan a big bike ride but needed to make sure that everyone would be safe. Then she saw a few nuts fall from a tree and hit a turtle on his shell. He just kept walking, happy as can be.

The turtle made Matilda realize she needs helmets to make sure everyone is safe on their bikes! She calls all of their friends to remind them to bring their helmets and bikes tomorrow.

It started to rain and Matilda realized the rain could ruin the party tomorrow! Then she realized the rain was rolling right off of the tree's leaves.

She decides to get a tent for the party tomorrow to protect them from the rain. The rain will roll right off of the tent like it did off of the leaves! Luckily, the rain stopped anyway.

Just then, a big gust of wind came and almost blew the tent over! Matilda notices that even though the leaves blew off, the tree is standing sturdy in the wind.

The trees gave her an idea! They have roots that hold them sturdy in place. Matilda gets some stakes to anchor the tent in place, just like the roots of the tree!

Now that Matilda has the tent, she has to figure out how to make sure her friends can find the party. Then she notices bees and butterflies flying towards the flower garden.

The pollinators and flowers gave her an idea! She decorates the tent with all the bright colors from the flowers to attract her friends!

While Matilda was decorating she got stuck in some burdocks which are sticky, prickly plants. It got stuck to all of her clothes and was so hard to get off!
