Lily's Discovery
Written by Emily Webber

One morning, Lily woke up on the wrong side of the
bed. Her puppy noticed and ran over to her, and Lily
said: "Fred, why do I feel this way? Please help me get
these angry thoughts out of my head."

Lily decided to take Fred for a walk, to clear her mind
and to have a talk. She looked at the ground, she looked
at the trees. She still couldn't understand why she
wanted to hit her knees.

She asked Fred: "Why do I feel so angry? Why do I have these
bruises?"
Fred replied: "Lily, you hit your knees when you're angry. I don't
know why you do it."
Pondering Fred's reply, she noticed a flower. She never looked at
flowers like she did on this specific hour.

But Lily could not stay to look at her new discovery.
Her mother called her to come back home, and besides,
Lily was getting quite hungry.

Lily and her mom went to town to get some lunch. When
Lily gets hungry, she feels more angry.

When Lily and her mom returned home, she asked:
"Mom, why do I feel angry and anxious
sometimes?"
Lily's mom replied, "Honey, sometimes you feel this
way and you just can't help it. That is why we have
to make sure you eat enough, and get enough sleep
to help control it."

Lily's mom decided to take her for a walk, so they could look around
outside and have a good talk.
"Whenever you feel sad or angry, I want you to find a flower. With
this flower you will gain a lot of power," said Lily's mom.
Lily wondered why a flower, but then she remembered what she
discovered earlier.

There behind her, Lily saw the flower she discovered from
before. She picked it up and held it in her hand, when
suddenly a breeze came across her from beyond the shore.
She no longer felt angry, but found peace within the flower.
Her mom was right, it did give her power.

The next day, Lily's teacher explained to her class that
whenever someone notices Lily is upset, they should get up
and give her a flower out of any of the flower pots, because
this will help give Lily the power to feel better.

The whole school community came together to ensure Lily's personality
disorder did not affect her. They planted flowers all over the school yard,
to give her happiness and power. Lily was so shocked and so glad, she never
knew how many friends she really had. She would not let her disorder
affect her, and she promised to always find a flower whenever she felt
angry or mad.
