Dedicated to Nicholas Adriano Avery

There was a house cat named Fatmir who lived with his owner Denton. Denton always had work. He never had time to play with Fatmir.
Fatmir wanted to make new friends by going outside, but he had never left home before.

Fatmir was done waiting and he left his house. While walking around town he was encountered by a big scary dog who started running towards Fatmir.

Fatmir ran so fast and so far away that eventually, he couldn't find his way back home! He searched and searched and could not find his home.

How I wish I was home!
While trying to find his way back home, he met that same dog that chased him, but he was too tired to run away!

You're going to eat me! I'll never get home!

The big scary dog went up to Fatmir and reached out his paw and introduced himself as Akoni. Fatmir was surprised at how friendly the big scary dog was, and was relieved that he was not going to be eaten.

Sure!
I've lost my way back home. Can you help me find it?
Akoni showed him around the city before they went home so he would never get lost again.

The owner of Dog Hardware gives out food to strays on Sunday!
Akoni showed him more around town, and Fatmir got to know more about him. Akoni explains that he was born a stray and never had an owner. Akoni warned Fatmir about the dangers of being a stray, but Fatmir was mesmerized by the freedom Akoni had.
Maybe I can become a stray cat too.

I do whatever I want!
"The biggest danger of being a stray is Gargamel the Animal Control Officer. He takes animals away from their home and puts them in prison. The food in that prison is awful, and you sit in a small cage until a your owner rescues you!"

Just as Akoni warned, Gargamel came around in his truck. They ran as fast as they can!

It's Gargamel! Follow me!
Come here you rascals!!!
Gargamel chased Fatmir and Akoni across the city but he was too slow to catch them.

Living as a stray isn't as good as it sounds. I wish I had a home to go back to.
Fatmir had enough of the outside world and went back home alone. Denton didn't even notice Fatmir's absence.
