.

One fine Monday morning Sarah woke up and looked through the window and she saw beautiful blooming and bright flowers and fresh green grass. She cleaned herself and went out looking at the bundle of clothes which her mother left for laundry. She heard her mother’s voice making her brother ready to go somewhere.

She thought “Oh my brother is going to school today. “I want to go to school too. She asked her mother “Mom what’s for breakfast. I’m really hungry! .''Her mom replied, “Why are you in a hurry ?.” Are you going out somewhere urgently? Wait there”.

Mom, I want to go to school with my brother.” “Dear don’t say nonsense you’re not going to school.” You are a girl .“Why do girls need to go to school? Who will take care of the household? After all, the girls should do the chores at home.” Sarah felt embarrassed

she really yearned to study in school and enjoy all the privileges that boys enjoy in their village. Then she rapidly went to her room and thought about all the tortures happening to the girls in her village. Tears rolled down her cheeks . She saw the neighborhood girls also washing, cleaning, grazing, carrying bundles of firewood.,

she only learned lady in her village is Sheela Bahan, who is a doctor in the village clinic. Sarah used to go to her clinic to help her in sweeping and cleaning. .She saw her brother going with her parents to school. ”Why are girls treated like this? “ she thought.

After completing her household duties she decided to convince her parents. When her mom came back she asked her “Why don’t you send me to school? I too want to learn and want to get a job and earn for the family.” Her mother said, ``Why do you need to go to school? Girls are for doing chore s in the house ”she replied “what about Ali ? What about the doctor sahiba in the village clinic? She is a woman. She has learned and now serves the whole village. ”Girls don’t need education !“ she shouted .She realized it was futile to argue with her.

in her village almost all the girls face the same problem .When a girl is born they are unhappy but they are delighted when they get a boy. The whole village believes that girls are meant to work at home, marry off and take care of the children. They are undernourished, shabby and never given good food which was only reserved for the males. They are not allowed to leave their houses alone. They are literally confined to the four walls of their homes.
She wondered why the whole world is like this to the girls .She dreamed of a world where girls have the same freedom as boys and privileges that boys possess. “Why should boys have all the freedom?”. The world should change.
