Once upon a time there was an entire population of Uglies. And 

of course they where very ill-favored looking people. Every 

Uglies’ dream is to be pretty, every Uglies dream is to be with 

out blimish.

At 16 the government selects eligible teens to become 

Pretty. Being a Pretty was a very common. As a Pretty 

it comes with a lot of advantages.

When you are Pretty you get to live in a 

massive city. You get to have a talking closet. 

No curfew and just about anything else a 

teenager could ever want. 

BUT, with every gift comes a price, in order to be 

pretty you have to be brain washed. All of your 

memories from the Ugly days will be eliminated. the 

Specials didn't wanted there barbaric ways in the 

city. 

But of course, there are always the steady few who 

comes in and saves the day. Meet Tally Youngblood. She 

is a new Pretty who has only been Pretty for a year. Even 

though the Specials erased her memory, her brain out 

smarted the medicine.

Of course every hero needs assistance. And her help 

happens to   be her devotion, her love, her 

everything. Zane Harris is on the same boat as 

Tally. They are both wanting to escape the chains 

and shackles of the Specials. 

Together Tally and Zane join forces to try and 

break the whole city free. They gather a group 

of companions that are also tired of the 

Specials and want to think for them self.

They gather the things they need to live out in the 

“The ruins”.   The Ruins are where all the Uglies live. 

There can find the cure to break the spell off of the 

Pretties. But as they travel to the Ruins Tally 

experiences problems on the way.

Unfortunately, Tally ended up getting stranded in the 

forest and meeting people who live deep in the woods. 

They helped Tally survive as she tries to find a way to 

get to The Ruins with everybody else.

As Tally finally finds her ways back to The Ruins she is 

reconnected with an old love who's name is David.Unlike 

Zane, Tally, and other people who escaped David had 

never turned pretty like the others.

When Zane and Tally got to The Ruins they found out 

that the Specials put a locater chip in Zanes tooth. Every 

one had to leave The Ruins and go somewhere else. 

Except for Tally and Zane. Tally refused to leave Zane 

because he was dying from brain lesions. It was a side 

affect of his surgery to become a Pretty. 

As everybody else left the ruins Zane and Tally stayed. 

By staying The Specials arrived. And from there they 

take way both of them away from the escape plan a 

restore them to there “natural state”. And eventually 

Tally Youngblood, the rebel on the verge of freedom 

turns into the worst thing she could...... A Special.
