It was a sunny autumn day,and Tilly was walking back
from her ballet class with her
dad.

2

Then out of nowherea magician appeared!

3

"Tilly," he said. "Have you ever wantedto go to fairyland?" "Why yes, I have
always wanted to go!" exclaimed Tilly.
“Well Tilly, here are some balloons.
These balloons are very special and
precious to me as they are magical
balloons. You have to promise that you
will use them well.” “
Yes, I promise to use them well,” replied
Tilly.

4

The magician leaned in as if he was goingto tell Tilly a secret. “All you have to do
is go outside tonight when the clock
strikes midnight. Then, wave the balloons
around you, and you will be transported
into fairyland.”
5

"But what if....." Tillytrailed off as the magician
disappeared with a
POP!

6

Tilly and her dad turned and walked away, wondering what
other strange people they would
meet on the way.
7

But unfortunately for Tilly, her precious balloons got stuck in
a tree outside her house! And no
matter how high Tilly’s dad lifted
her, she was still unable to reach her
balloons.

8
That night at the dinner table, Tilly was in a miserable state and
refused to eat anything. Her parents
felt very sorry for her indeed.

9

So after dinner, they climbed the tree and brought the balloons for
Tilly. Tilly was over the moon to
see her balloons again!
10

She tied them to herbedpost and vowed to
never let them out of her
sight.
11

That night, when the clock struck midnight, Tilly crept out of her bed
room, padded softly down the stairs,
and crept outside, as silently as a
mouse. She looked around to
make sure nobody was watching
and waved the balloons around herself.
With a “pop” she vanished!
12
Seconds later, another sounded in fairyland.
POP13

Tilly was very excited, for she had been dreaming for years to go to
fairyland. Deciding she immediately
wanted to see the queen, Tilly crept out
of the room and went to find the
courtyard, where she was convinced the
Queen would be.
14

Even as she walked, Tilly could sense that something was wrong. Things were
usually not this quiet in fairyland. Not
that she had ever visited, but that was
how it was in books. Where was the
chatter and the games that were
played in the palace? Where were the
little fairies fluttering about with their
wings making soft noises? Tilly was
now very worried about what was
happening.
15

She rushed into the courtyard with hopethat there would be fairies there. But no.
There was someone though, and that
someone was the magician! Tilly came to
a sudden stop right in front of the
magician. “I didn't know I would see you
here,” she said. “Ah, but where did you
think you would see me then?” asked the
magician. This left Tilly wondering
where else she would have seen him.
16

“I purposely brought you here. Fairyland is in trouble. There are pirates
invading the land and we need some help
from a human. And you are the only
person who can stop them.”
“But what am I supposed to do?” asked
Tilly. “Go to dungeon. The Queen
awaits you there, for she has heard that
you have come to help us.” And with
that, the magician turned on his heel and
walked away.
17

Tilly made her way down to the dungeonsto meet the Queen, wondering how pretty
the queen would look and how many maids
she had. Walking slowly into the dungeon
Tilly took in all the sights. There was the
Queen in the center, with the King and her
family surrounding her. There were two maids,
and a platter of delicious food waited for
the hungry Tilly.

18
It is nice to meet you Tilly,” said the Queen in her majestic voice, bringing Tilly
back to her senses. Tilly curtsied, for she
was unsure of what to do. “Take a seat,
and help yourself” came the Queen’s
voice.Tilly sat down next to the Queen and
helped herself to a pile of food.

19

“So, Tilly. We have a bit of a problem here, as you have figured out already,”
said the Queen knowingly. “But how do
you know…..” Tilly started to ask, but
she was cut short by one of the maids.
“The queen knows everything. That is
also the reason why you are here. She
knew that you would be able to help us.”

20

“So, as I was saying, we have a problem. There are pirates who have invaded
Fairyland. Obviously, we have to get
rid of them. And for that job I chose you,
because I had a feeling that you
would be able to help us . We need
you to help us get rid of them. You will
help us won’t you?” asked the Queen.
“Of course I will,” replied Tilly. So the
Queen, her family and Tilly made a
plan.

21

The next morning, Tilly was excited because today, they were going to put their plan
into action! She gathered lots
of little fairies, and took them to the lake
where an old ship was docked. “Our
task is to re-decorate this and turn it into
something for the pirates!” Tilly said.
22

So they all got to work. Days passed, andby the end of it, they had come up with a
marvelous creation. “Now it is time to
invite over the pirates,” spoke the Queen.
“But who will fetch them?” asked one
of the fairies. “Well,” mused the Queen.
She pretended to think about it. “How
about you?” “Me…okay sure I will,”
replied the fairy. “Well, all we can do
now is sit and wait,” said the Queen.
