Billy and his mother Ashely moved to Florida 

to start their new lives with her new husband, 

Mark.

Billy likes his new house, his school, and he 

even made new friends.

Billy, Ashely and Mark were very happy 

together, and were like one big happy family.

Mark`s job as a police officer was not working 

out 

and he was fired after 3 months on the job.

Mark was very stressed trying to find a new 

job that he started to drink. 

He was very lazy and didn't care on finding a 

job anymore.

Marks drinking got out of control and he 

started to take his anger out on his family.

Every night Billy listened as they fought and 

argued and he would lay in his bed and cry.

He heard his mom yelling and crying and asking 

for help, but billy didn't know what to do. 

Billy noticed bruises on his mom and when he 

asked what happened she kept on making 

excuses.  

He was very upset and did not know who to 

talk to.

The physical abuse continued, and family 

members, teachers, and even his friends saw 

billy getting distinct and wondered what was 

wrong.
