The Crossing of the
Returned Threshold
Call to AdventureSupernatural AidCrossing the First ThresholdRoads of TrialsThe Ultimate Boon2
The night was beautiful, rain had just fallen covering the green grass. It was a perfect night for the worship team to discuss the plans for
the up-coming yearly Youth Retreat. The worship team talked about
which two people were going to give a sermon this year. Eyes moved
left and right, until they fell upon a small figure. This year, I will be
one of the two people who will be giving a sermon.

After the meeting was over, everyone left. I got home and walked intomy room. This was the first time that I would be giving a sermon. I
became afraid. I paced back and forth my room, until I looked at my
computer desk. There set perfectly on my desk was my bible. My gift,
my sword, and my guide that God had given me.

4
I got my bible and went into the dining room. I quickly sat down and pondered about my sermon. Then it hit me, I had no idea what my
sermon was going to be about. Sweat started to form on my forehead.
I spent two days thinking of a name for my sermon. On the second
night, I finally thought of a title, my sermon was going to be called:
Persevering Towards God.

5
Now that my sermon finally has a name, I started to create my lesson.I thought that since I had my sermon name, that creating my lesson
would be easy. Well, I spoke to soon I did not know where to begin.
I thought to myself, should I begin by looking for bible verses or
should I look for biblical stories. Then before I knew it, I was stuck
in on a path filled with problems.
6
I had difficulties trying to solve all my problems, I just did not know where to start. Then after a month, my sermon was complete. I was able to overcome what I
thought was the impossible. My sermon was filled with verses, biblical stories, and
most importantly with the words that God had given me.

The day of the retreat had arrived, I was shaking like a leaf.It felt like butterflies were in my stomach and I wanted to
run away, but I knew that running away was not an
option. I swallowed my fear and slowly took a step towards
the stage. I knew that after my sermon I would not be the same
person I used to be.
