There comes a point in an abyss where people
fail to see this dark shadow clouds their vision,
they do not see what lay in front of them. They
need something more, a fresh pair of eyes… or
perhaps simply a private eye, someone to help
address their suspicion. This is where I come
in; you see I am a detective.

When hired by individuals I investigate cases
my clients cannot solve on their lonesome.
Gambling, adultery, fraud, irregularity of one’s
spouse… Murder. I’m sure the idea has been
gripped. Being a detective means working very
odd hours, your schedule must be flexible.
Especially if you happen to be an undercover
investigator.

An undercover investigator, sometimes called
a criminal investigator, is a man or woman
who conducts investigations on criminal
activity. This job has more than its fair share
of dangers, because of this, investigations
could take weeks, months and sometimes
years. This is also why many criminal
investigators keep their true identities in
secret, they carry small cameras and recorders
on them even though they are hidden from
view, trust me they’re there.

I have been a detective for most of my life,
ever since I was 18 in fact, and I still
remember the day I had gotten my license.
Apart from that I needed a minimum years of
compensated investigatory experience and to
agree to undergo a background check.

People often ask me about my line of work, they say
“tom about your line of work, what do you do?”
“What makes it so… special?” and I always reply
with the same answer, I say “what makes it special
is the breakfast at 6 o’clock, and working my case
till when ever it ends.” “I get dressed in what ever is
appropriate for the job at hand then I attend the
court, and collect my 45,740 a year… oh and I never
forget to work in the field.” Then I look into their
eyes and say “I love my job… the greatest benefit I
have from it is the closure brought to families after I
have discovered what to them, was undiscoverable
and invaluable information.”
