Bir zamanlar Elif adında bir kız vardı. Elif hayvanları çok seviyordu. Siz en çok hangi hayvanları seviyorsunuz? Ne zaman yardıma ihtiyaçları olsa, elinden geldiğince onlara yardım ederdi. Hayvanlara asla zarar vermez ve onları incitmezdi. Birisi bir hayvana işkence ettiğinde, ona kızarak onun önünde dururdu. Elif'in ailesi de hayvanları çok seviyordu ve onu destekliyordu. Onları çok severmiş ve hatta her gün okula giderken bile yanına alırmış.

Bir gün, Elif yolda yürürken, aman Allah'ım, aniden ne görsün? Yolun hemen kenarında yatan bir köpek yavrusu vardı ve ne yazık ki bariz acı çekiyordu. Elif zavallı köpeği görünce hem üzüldü hem de incindi. Daha hızlı yürüdü ve köpeğin ayağının yaralı olduğunu görünce ona doğru uzandı. Büyük ihtimalle dikkatsiz bir sürücü ayağını ezmişti.

One day,  Elif is walking down the road, oh my God, what should she see suddenly? There was a puppy lying on just side of the road, and unfortunately it was obviously suffering.  Elif was both sad and hurt by seeing the poor dog. She walked faster and reached out the dog, seeing that its foot was injured.  Most likely, a careless driver crushed its foot.

Sonra hemen yavruyu aldı ve yoldan iki sokak ötede bulunan veterinere götürdü. Veteriner kliniğine girer girmez, veteriner hiç vakit kaybetmeden yavrunun ayağına baktı ve bacağının kırıldığını gördü. Yavru acı çektiği için de çok üzgündü ancak yapabileceği başka bir şey yoktu. Tanrıya şükürler olsun ki yavrunun hayati bir durumu yoktu. Veteriner yavrunun ayağını alçıya aldı. Ve iki hafta boyunca hareket ettirmeden bakılması gerektiğini, aksi takdirde aynı yerden tekrar kırılacağını söyledi.

Then, she immediately picked up the puppy and took it to the vet two streets down the road. As soon as she enters the vet clinic, the vet immediately looked at the puppy's foot without wasting any time and he saw that its leg was broken. She was also very upset because the puppy is in pain however there was nothing else she could do. Thank God the puppy was not in vital condition. The vet put the puppy’s foot in a plaster cast.  And he said that it should be looked at without moving for two weeks or it will break again in the same place.

Yavruyu alıp eve gitti. Annesine durumu olduğu gibi anlattı. Annesi ona 'Davranışın güzel ve örnekti. Ayrıca 'İstersen iyileşene kadar burada kalabilir.' dedi. Hemen yavruyu oraya koydu. Birdenbire, veterinerin daha önce söylediği gibi yavrunun aç olabileceğini hatırladı. Sonra onu güzelce besledi. Birlikte eve geldiler. Şimdi daha iyi bir yerde iyileşecekti. Tatillerde zamanının çoğunu yavruyla geçirdi. Bu durum ikisini de memnun etti.

She took the puppy and went home. She told her mother about the situation as it was.  Her mother said her 'Your behaviour was nice and exemplary. In addition, she said 'If you want, it can stay here until it gets better.' She immediately put the puppy there. Suddenly, she remembered that the puppy could be hungry because the vet said before. Then, she fed it well. They came home together. Now, it would recover in a better place. She spent most of her time with the puppy on holidays. This situation made both of them satisfied.

                                 2 Hafta sonra

2 hafta geçti ve Elif yavruya alıştığını ve onun da kendisine alıştığını ifade etti. Sabah veterinere gittiler ve veteriner bandajı çıkardı. Bacağı iyileşti. Eve geldiğinde annesi, yavru iyileştikçe dışarı çıkarması gerektiğini söyledi. Önce annesini ikna etmeye çalıştı ama annesi haklıydı. Yavrunun da bir annesi ve kardeşleri vardı. Ailesiyle daha mutlu olacaktı. Bu yüzden Elif onu bıraktı. 

                                       2 weeks later..

2 weeks passed and she got used to the puppy and it also got used to her. In the morning, they went to the vet and the vet removed the bandage. His leg got better. When she came home, her mother said that as the puppy got better, she should let it go out. First, she tried to convince her mother but her mother was right. The puppy also had a mother and siblings. It would be happier with its family. So, Elif let it go.

Birkaç gün sonra kapılarında bir köpek yavrusu, başka bir büyük köpek ve birkaç yavru daha vardı. Çok duygusaldı. Onu unutmadığı gibi ailesini de bulmuştu. Elif onları annesiyle birlikte besledi. Sonra ağacın gölgesine oturup onları izlediler.

A few days later, there was a puppy at their door, another large dog, and a few more puppies. He was very emotional. Not only did he not forget her, but he also found his family. Elif fed them with her mother. Then they sat in the shade of the tree and watched them.
