The Dryads, or otherwise, the forest nymphs, were very famous nymphs in Greek Mythology. Beautiful female figures of the dense trees, and especially of the oaks that lived under the trunks of theoary trees. The Nymphs of the Forests were divided into the following categories: the Amadryades, who were mortal and protected the sacred forests, as well as specific trees. The Dafnaia, who were the nymphs of the laurels. The Meliades, who were the patrons of fruit trees. The Melies Nymphs were the ones from which the human race came.
Finally, the Othreides and Oreiades were Dryads with a mountainous status, as they protected the mountain forests. It is even said that Zeus was raised in the mountains of Crete by two Dryads.
