Taiga

There is not a very large plant and animal diversity in the Taiga
because of the harsh conditions. There are a few plant species
including lichens, mosses, and coniferous trees. Some of the
animal wildlife includes American Black Bears, Bobcats, and
Wolverines.
The climate of the Taiga is known as a "Dfc" climate. This means
that there is snow, there is always enough precipitation, and
there is less than 4 months a year with average temperatures of
50° or more. It's landforms include mountains, lakes, plains,
rivers, streams, and some dormant volcanoes. The Taiga's soil
does not have many nutrients because of its permafrost. The
types of soil are Spodosol, Gelisol, and Shield. One of the food
chains of this biome are that the berries get eaten by the
squirrels, who get eaten by the foxes, who then get eaten by the
wolves. The human impacts on this biome is that they cut down
trees and hunt animals. The Taiga biome is located in Canada,
North America, Asia, and Europe. (75°-60° North)

Tundra

The biotic factors of the Tundra include lichens, cotton
grass, and dark red leaves. Some of the animal
wildlife includes an arctic fox, caribou, and polar bear.
There is very poor soil quality in the Tundra. It has
mountains and its climate is bleak and treeless. It is
mostly always cold and during some months the sun
barely rises. An example of one of the food chain in
the Tundra is that the bear grass gets eaten by the
arctic hare. Then the polar bear eats the arctic hare.
Humans have impacted the Tundra by decreasing the
animal population from hunting and polluting the
environment through oil drilling. It is located at the
top of the world around the North Pole (90° DCE)

Topical Rain Forest

The tropical rain forest has a very wide variety of
plant and animal species. A few of the animals are
the toucan, white bengal tiger, and the sloth. Some
of the plants in the rain forest are orchids, buttress
roots, and epiphytes. The soil of the tropical rain
forest is relatively poor in nutrients and its climate
includes lots of rain and is very humid. An example
of a food chain in the tropical rain forest is that a
grasshopper eats the marsh grass and then a shrew
eats the grasshopper and then the grasshopper gets
eaten by the hawk.

Grasslands

Some biotic factors are mice, birds, insects, bacteria, thorn, trees,
small shrubs and grasses. The abiotic factors are sunlight, sand,
fertile soil, water, and climate which includes lots of rainfall.
Humans have left a huge impact including the fact that more than
25% of grasslands have disappeared. Many of the prairie animals
such as prairie dogs are becoming extinct. They are killed because
they are considered bests by farmers. However it is illegal to kill a
prairie dog. Many animals are illegally poached. This biome is
primarily located in Australia, Africa, South America. Africa is made
up mostly of the grasslands biome. The general area has a latitude
of 37°21′N to 34°51′15″S and a longitude of 51°27′52″E to
17°33′22″W. One of the food chains starts with trees and shrubs
which are eaten by caterpillars, birds, and mice. The catepillar is
eaten by the bird which then eaten by the fox which, also eats
squirrels, rabbits, and mice. The wolf eats the rabbit as well. The
wolves and foxes are the kings of the food chain.
