As the nighttime skies become morning...

The bright sunshine starts to appear with beams of light piercing the bright blue skies.

DING! DING! DING! As I sluggishly turn towards that horrific and ear-wrenching sound, I suddenly realize it was the alarm going off, which meant it was the beginning of a new day. I grab my cold plated IPhone and hit “Stop” to turn the alarm off and roll back over. I think to myself, “UGH another morning I have to roll out of my nighttime slumber and start a new day!” Suddenly, out comes a loud "YAWN." I glance over to the glass window and think to myself, “Phew, it is a bright morning!”

YAWN

As my eyes feel like the twinkling of the moonlight stars, I rub them with the knuckles of my hands in circular motions clockwise. The fogginess that shadows my pupils makes it difficult to open them to their fullest potential. Though I dread the thought of having to get out of this warm and cloudy pillow that crests my body as I lay in slumber, I know it is time to begin my day and that I should not lay in bed a minute longer.

My body strikes a “Y” pose with tightly bound fists. As I bent my waist towards the right, then again towards the left, a screech of another “AHHH” filled the morning air; a yawn that felt as if I never yawned before. Release... Breathing in, and breathing out. This repeats one, two, maybe three times.

“UGH, let’s get out of bed now" I say to myself. My mind is swarmed with thoughts that are racing at a mile a minute. As the clock ticks another second, another minute…the heaviness of my legs shift from the softened sheets to the end of the cloudy felt bed. A hard and cold vinyl floor touches the crevices beneath my toes.

YAWN

One step forward and another one following. Yet, it feels like months have passed by just in those brief passing moments. A “YAWN” fills the air once more. It was as if swift gusts of brisk air had filled my lungs. A few fleeting moments of tiredness overpower my being. I think to myself, “there’s only 24 hours in a day's time…that’s not too long to be awake.”

YAWN

An involuntary facial expression had appeared upon my soft, yet tired face, and it was a smile. A smile of acceptance of today’s agenda. Thus, where my seers are open, my feelers are reaching, and my tasters are accelerated. "Let the day begin," I share with myself.

One step, two steps, three steps and a few more. I walk towards the tan wooden door, as my toes nestle into the fluffiness of the carpet spurs. I gently grab the door knob and swing open the door. “WHOOSH” a gigantic gust of sweet smelling odors fill my nostrils. My mouth starts watering and my taste buds begin to dance. I think to myself, “yum, breakfast is served and waiting for my arrival.”
