SPACE JUNK

Rubbish in space is really dangerous for us.

Over five people have died from debris and 

many others had been injured badly. Garbage is

in the orbit  of the Earth and might fall down

on Earth. Most of these are pieces of destroyed satellites or spacecrafts but there are other things out there and we must clean them up.

AIR POLLUTION

1. The energy problem is due to the enormous amounts of energy that are lost every day.

 2. Today΄s cars operate with the mixture ratio

of air and gasoline, which ensures maximum economy and the best performance of the engine.

3. Another big problem are factories which emit a lot of gases in the atmosphere.

CAUSES

 RESULTS

1. The thermal energy that is released cannot be utilized ''entirely'' to produce mechanical work. This results in efficiencies not exceeding 40%, even in the most modern power generation units. 

2. Lots of gases are released in the atmosphere which cause serious health problems to humans and animals,

1. That΄s why it΄s good to move around with

bicycles and electric cars!!!

2. Use filters in factories.

WATER POLLUTION

CAUSES

1. Industry, agriculture and livestock farming.

2. Global warming.

3. Littering.

RESULTS

1. Water pollution affects aquatic ecosystems and triggers  the increase  of phytoplankton in lakes — eutrophication. As a result, balance is disrupted and life under water is in danger.

2. Contamination of the food chain.

NOISE POLLUTION

CAUSES

1. Traffic noise

Traffic noise is responsible for most noise pollution in cities.

2. Air Traffic noise. 

There are many aircrafts flying over cities and the impact is greater.

3. Construction sites.

The construction of buildings and car parks and the resurfacing of roads and pavements are very noisy and disruptve, especially during quiet hours.

4. Food and nightlife.

Bars,restaurants and overflowing.   

RESULTS

1. Physical. 

Respiratory irritation, racing pulse, high blood pressure, headaches and in case of extremely loud continuous noise gastrititis, colitis and heart attacks.

2. Psychological. 

Noise can cause the effects of stress,anxiety and hysteria in both humans and animals.

3 .Sleep and behaviour disorders.

Noise prevents us from sleeping or sleeping properly. It can also have lateral effect on our behavior.

4. Memory and concentration. 

Noise can affect people's ability to  focus,which can lead  to poor performance over time.

SOLUTIONS  (what can we do?)

We can:

1. Not play loud music, not move heavy furniture and general activities of this kind during the hours of common quiet.

2. Make a request to the municipality to install sound barriers in our neighborhood and in general in the area we live.

3. Place sound curtains οn the walls of our houses to avoid loud and annoying noises.

4. Reduce traffic on the streets.

And all these things are about the NOISE POLLUTION! 

LAND POLLUTION

CAUSES

1.   The factories do not use filters and they unload their         waste in the lakes, the sea and the ground.

2.   The exsessive use of fertilisers in farming.

3.  By not recycling all the rubbish accumulate.

RESULTS

1.  Waste like plastic, glass, aluminium, will not dissolve  or burn or  be destroyed in any other way giving rise to enviromental pollution.

2. The exhaust goes to the clouds and pollutes the rain and drops it on the ground and pollutes the plants.

SOLUTIONS

 1.  The factories should use filters and not leave

      their waste in the lakes, the sea or the ground.

2.   Gasoline cars should be replaced by electric 

       cars.

3.    We should recycle. This way we reduce the amount             of waste gathered in landfills.
