Today is Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Elisabeth is very 

happy. She jumps down stairs quickly and goes to the 

kitchen. Her mum, Theresa, is waiting for her while she is 

having her breakfast. 

- Goog morning mum! -say Elisabeth smiling- .

- Good morning honey. Are you already prepared? Today 

we have a lot of work. I am going to brush my teeth so let me 

know when you finish, ok?

- Ok mum.

Elisabeth is very excited today because her family is 

going to prepare a surprise party for her brother, Peter, 

who have been living abroad for a long time. All the family 

is going to come to her house and they are going to have a 

good time together. But, first of all, Elisabeth and her mum 

have to go to the supermarket to buy some things for the party.

- Elisabeth, might you take a shopping cart, please? - say 

Theresa-.

- Yes, of course. What are we going to buy mum? 

- We have to buy balloons, carrots, lettuce, pepper, 

cheese, crisps, pineapple, sirloin and some ingredients for 

the chocolate cake.

- Mmm I love this cake. I think that Peter also likes.

- Yes he does, is his favorite dessert. 

One hour later, Elisabeth and her mum have in their 

shopping cart: 2 packets of balloons, 2 lettuce, 5 carrots, 

6 peppers, 1 cheese, 3 packets of crisps, 2 pineapple and 

15 fresh sirloin steaks. But they have a problem, they do 

not find the chocolate bar. 

Suddenly, they see a man who works in the 

supermarket. They recognize him quickly because is 

wearing the supermarket uniform and is putting some 

food in the shelf.

- Excuse me, -say Theresa-. Could you tell me in what 

section are the chocolate bars, please?

- Of course, it is in section 3 in front of the milk. Today 

we have an offer in chocolate bars: if you take three 

packets, you only have to pay one.

- Oh! Thank you, that it is perfect. Good bye.

- Good bye.
