Once upon a time in the year 1586 in a
gray brick castle far far away, a king and a
queen accidentally had a sixth child. They
didn’t want any more kids they only wanted
to have themselves and their five beautiful
daughters. The sixth child however, was as
ugly as a donkey. Her name was Cam and she
liked pineapple.

She had black curly hair, unlike her five sisters and her
mother who had long blond straight hair. Her only flaw
was her hair, otherwise she was beautiful. A few days
later, she was declared the ugliest girl in the kingdom
just because she didn’t have straight blonde hair. All the
women and girls in the kingdom had straight hair. It
was a rare sight that a whole kingdom in this time
period had a woman in it with curly hair. Her sisters
each won a beauty contest. However, her parents never
entered her in a beauty contest because they thought
she was too ugly, they would get laughed at, and maybe
be dethroned because they would’ve made a bad
decision.

“Mother why am I so ugly?” questioned Cam.
“No one likes girls with curly hair,” she responded.
“Why not?” Cam added.
“In the kingdom only men are allowed to have curly
hair, and unfortunately you are the only woman in the
kingdom with curly hair,” her mother calmly added.
“Mother, who made up that rule?” Cam asked.
“Why my dear the first king of Romania made up that
rule, we have been following that ever since,” Queen
Primrose replied.
“Madame, why did you make me ugly?” Cam shouted.

“CAM MARY JONES, STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS. YOU
ARE UGLY AND THAT IS IT. I CAN NOT HELP YOU. YOU
ARE WHO YOU ARE. NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM AND
PRACTICE ROUTINES THAT YOU THINK WILL MAKE YOU
LOOK PRETTIER, EVEN THOUGH YOU WILL NEVER BE!”
her mother shouted.
Cam ran away crying.
About 5 years later when Cam turned eighteen, she got
a beautiful blue chiffon dress. An evil witch came to her
birthday party. She was wearing a bright green dress
and had a staff in her hand. Her hair was black and curly
just like Cam’s.

“My darling Cam, happy birthday!” the witch
screamed.
“Thank you Madame,” Cam responded.
“Cam, where are all your friends?” questioned the
witch.
“Well, I don’t have any. I am far too ugly to have
any. I have been home-schooled for my entire life.
My parents wouldn’t let me go to school. The
school administrator would not allow me to go to
school because of my hair,” she explained.

“Well darling I have a special gift for you,” the
witch chimed.
The witch cast a spell on her. The spell specifically
said that when Cam went up to her room for bed
two weeks from her birthday, she would lay on her
bed and at 11 p.m. she would get stabbed in the
back and fall into a deep sleep, only to be woken
by the smell of death by her bedside.
Cam would be cast away to Rapunzel’s tower and
will be put in a glass covered bed with a nice flower
print chiffon blanket.
