Oh it was going to be the perfect day. The weather man had sun all day. My soccer game and first horse show of the year lined up perfectly

I woke up nice and early. Like so early the sun didn't even rise yet.

The birds were chirping and singing to complement my perfect day. I grabbed my bag full of cleats, water, and a spare uniform and my Dad and I headed out the door.

We started driving. We drove, and drove and then boom!

Loads of traffic stopped our way at 8 in the morning! It was chaos and craziness!

"We are going to be late." my dad said. It was saddening but all that mattered was that we were getting there to play soccer on this perfect day.

Soccer Fields

The traffic slowly speed up and
we reached our destination.

There was fields amoung fields. It was cold out which I did not expect as I had nothing under my uniform. The first game of the day started. We played for only 60 minutes but the weather started to warm up.

Sadly we lost. And we lost bad.
Like 6-0.

I had no time to pout as we head to the 2nd game right after. I was already tired from the first so our warmup was not very long. Our second game started. We were winning 4-0 but then I had to leave the game early to start my perfect afternoon following my not so perfect morning

We then got back on the road and headed an hour and a half back home. The way back felt much longer than the way there. I think it was the excitement building up in my bones. I looked out the window and day dreamed of how my perfect afternoon would take place.

We reached the barn, and I ripped open my bag of clothes to change.

Squeezed in a tiny bathroom, I started to switch out piece by piece of my clothing to fit the afternoon better. My ponytail turned to my hair down. I switched my jersey to a T-shirt and jacket. My riding socks took the place of my soccer socks, and my cowboy boots took the place of my cleats.

But I had a missing piece. I could not find my favorite pair of jeans. I must've forgotten them. What was I supposed to wear now?

+

I couldn't wear my shorts. That would have my leg rubbing against the saddle and that would be painful.

I went to talk to my friend Carrie, who assured me I could borrow a pair of hers.

I put them on, and they were the comfiest pants I have ever worn. They were even better than my original pants. It was just another ruffle in my perfect day, but it was ok as it was just a small one.

My outfit was complete, and I walked down to the barn to meet the ponies. As Carrie called them in, my mouth dropped. Bolt was covered in mud. It was thick, dark, muddy mud.
