Hi, My name is Sarah.

She is learning through visual aids and letter relations to animal names.

Cognitive Milestones: Counting
Sarah and her friends love to count through rhythm. It's easier to recall letters and numbers using this method. Also, using letter or number cards teaches them what the number or letter looks like, and Sarah is learning how to write.

Cognitive Milestones: Recognizing Shapes
Sarah and her peers are learning about shapes. Some shapes have corners, some have rounded sides, and others have points. Learning about shapes is an early math skill.

This is Sarah's first experience in school. So she doesn't know the school schedule. Like many other new children attending school, Sarah and the other children ask, "When is my family coming back"? To help them, I use a visual schedule that shows what we are doing now and what will happen next. With this schedule, we can keep track of our activities before their families come to pick them up.
Cognitive Milestones: Visual Schedule

Magnetic tiles of the activities can be modified, re-arranged, and added to, along with the "Next arrow" and the "Now" buttons. These are visual aids that depict a sequence of events a child can look at, prepare for and be aware of upcoming occurrences. Therefore, assisting with the child's cognitive milestones. -Children Autism Services (2018) taken from: Pixy.org. #915997
