              Cultural Holidays

This story is about Cultural Holidays.

All over the world people celebrate holidays 

and each culture celebrates differently. 

We are going to be learning about how 

different cultures celebrate holidays. 

                   January

January the 1 is beginning of the New Year. In 

the United States it is a traditional for families to 

get together and eat and celebrate the up 

coming New Year.

January in China they celebrate what is called 

the Chinese New Year. They have a large parade 

and the whole town comes to watch the parade. 

                February

In February Valentines Day is 

celebrated. 

Valentines Day is known as the day 

that we give gifts to the ones. 

Valentines cards and candy is my all 

time favorite!

                    March

In March St. Patrick's Day is 

celebrated in many ways. Some town 

have large parades. 

St. Patrick's Day is known for 

Shamrocks and the pot of gold at the 

end of the

rainbow. 

                   April

Easter is a holiday that is loved by all 

children. Children love the Easter 

bunny and all the Easter eggs that 

they can find. 

                         May

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated in Mexico and the 

United States.Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on 

the 5th of May.

May is the month that Mother's are celebrated 

all over the world. This is the day that children 

celebrate how wonderful their mother's are. 

Memorial Day is celebrated at the end of May and 

its the day that we remember all of the men and 

women that died while serving in the military. 

                             June

June is the month that Father's Day. Father's 

Day is the day that children celebrate their 

Father's by doing special things for them. 

June is also the month that summer vacation 

begins. Summer vacation is special to all 

children because that is when we get to take 

trips with our families.  

                           July

We celebrate Independence Day on the July 4th.

This is a day that we celebrate adoption of the 

Declaration of Independence. 

This is a day that families get together and grill 

and spend the day outside enjoying each other. 

That night there is always a fireworks show for 

the families to enjoy together.
