Once upon a time in a small town called Temple Town, two young boys named Harry and Tiddle were practicing
for their soccer tryouts that were scheduled to take place
the next day. The boys have been practicing for weeks
but Harry has had way more practice.

Tiddle has been so busy trying to study for a test that he hasn't been able to practice as much as Harry.
Harry, however, has pushed his studying completely
to the side so he could just focus on making the team.
Both of the boys have a big test and soccer tryouts on
the same day.

"I am so happy I have gotten so great at soccer these past couple weeks.I can't wait to be a part of the team" says Harry. "But Harry, what about
your school work? We have a big test tomorrow that we need to study for.
You have been practicing so much; don't you think you should put your
soccer ball away and review your notes?" says Tiddle. "No, the test wont
be important once I'm on the soccer team". So the boys continued on
with their activities. Harry kept on playing soccer and Tiddle went
back to studying.

.

The next day at the beginning of the school day, Ms. Smiley
handed Harry and Tiddle their tests and they began working.
Tiddle was confident he would get an "A" but once Harry took a
look at the test, he realized he didn't know any of the answers.

Later, while the boys were at P.E., Ms. Smiley graded their tests.Tiddle got an A and Harry got an F. The boys then got their test
results back and headed to soccer tryouts after school.

"Are you boys prepared for this soccer tryout? I hope you've both beenpracticing because there's only one spot available on this team. In order
to be on this team, you need to be amazing at soccer and great in school."
says Coach Loy.
Harry stands in front of the coach with aconfused look on his face.
"Coach, what do gradeshave to do with soccer?"
says Harry.

"We can't have people struggling in school on this team because those people need to focus
on school, not soccer!" says Coach Loy. Harry, knowing he just failed a test, gets nervous
about his spot on the team. The coach then runs through drills and finally sends them home
after two hours of tryouts. He tells the boys that he will post at school tomorrow who made
the team.

The boys then go home to get a good nights rest sothey can wake up early to go see who made the team.

The list had been posted and the boys werevery surprised when they saw who made the
team. Tiddle had made the team. Harry, very
disappointed because he knew how great he
was at soccer, decided to go talk to Coach Loy
about his decision.

"Coach Loy, I was wondering why I didn't make the soccer team. I have been so
dedicated to soccer and can score twice as many goals as Tiddle" says Harry. "Harry, I
know your a great soccer player but you just failed Ms. Smileys test and I'm not allowed
to have students on my team who are struggling in school. Maybe next year!" says Coach
Loy.
