They're widely considered to be the world's best-tasting oysters, known for their plump and creamy texture and intense minerality.


The meat pie is another traditional dish that's seen as part of both the Australian and New Zealand national identities. New Zealand meat pie is a hand-sized meat pie containing largely diced or minced meat and gravy, sometimes with onion, mushrooms, or cheese and often consumed as a takeaway food snack.
